Good experience with EDIT at Park MGM

I want to share my good experience with a prepaid EDIT booking at Park MGM.

I booked last year when it was showing Marriott Eligible. At check in I made sure to have them attach my Marriott number, it did not seem to be transmitted with the booking despite including it when booking at Chase.

The only inconvenience was that they would not confirm late checkout until the morning of checkout, but we called down from the room and they handled it, giving us a 1pm checkout.

At checkout there was no charges for the resort fee, just dining that we had charged to the room, and they proactively made sure the $100 credit was applied.

A few days later I see both points and elite nights posted to my Marriott account, with no intervention on my part.

Has anyone had success getting an IHG reservation booked through Chase Travel to show up in their IHG account? I just booked a room with my IHG One Rewards number and it doesn't show up in my account. When I look up the reservation on the app (no luck on the website) and try to add it to my account, I get "Issue updating this stay".

Rep offered to call hotel again, which was done but the Front Desk person connected the rep to a line that went to voice mail. Rep told me that there were additional notes that I was inquiring about the refund. Rep told me that hopefully I will get my refund soon.

I said that I will wait a few weeks but if there is no progress and it gets close to the dispute deadline, I'm going to dispute both the Chase Travel and the hotel charge which hopefully will force them to do something.

I'll just repeat that I will NEVER use Chase Travel to book hotels except to try to capture the hotel credit and/or the Edit credits...

I received an email February 22 that my refund was processed. Now I'm curious if they clawback the extra UR for the $40 something charged on Chase Travel or if they claw it back at the 3x hotel rate that I got for the hotel charge.

My Edit reservations are visible in my IHG account.

Wanted to share a report on my recent edit stay at JW Marriott Anaheim Resort. Made this reservation in Dec using 2025 credit.

- we had a great stay- this is a bit above our regular level of hotel, but enjoyed it quite a bit
- Reservation showed up immediately in my Marriott account
- checked in around 1:30pm, 2+ hours prior to regular check in, and received early check in no issues. Was upgraded to a ‘concierge level’ on 10th floor.
- was informed at check in about credit policy - that the $100 credit was for food/bev and at the pantry also, which had grab/go and a few gift items (mugs, hats, t-shirts, etc.)
- upon enquiring about the lounge hours, I was initially informed that it was only for Platinum and above, and that the upgrade was the higher floor/better view, but without further prompting, he said something like, but that’s not a problem - I’ll add it to your room - this was great to have since we could run in and get snacks for the kids as needed, and grab a quick bite fast at breakfast for kids. Also great to be able to grab dessert for them nightly, plus they have a patio which gave a great view of Disney foreworks - so that worked out well
- we ate breakfast at the restaurant 2 of the 3 days, though interesting thing here. First, was told that kids would get comped with each adult breakfast, then told the breakfast includes 2 kids staying in the same room as adult. Interestingly enough, day 1 of breakfast, which was 1 adult/2 kids, it showed up on folio - 2nd time we were informed at the restaurant that it was comp, and this never showed up on folio. At check out, inquired about this and they said it must have been an error and took it off. However, the entire $100 credit was added based on this, even though the total was $80. Not sure why - breakfast was the only food/beverage we had (didn’t realize the kids were included for breakfast - since it’s just marketed for 2). Nevertheless, at check out, they said no problem, we will leave the credit on
- granted 1pm check out on request
- I know there’s been lots of talk about the double-billing of destination fee - we paid upon booking to Chase, but it was not on folio at all - I assumed I’d have to argue about that, so pleasantly surprised.

all in all, despite the [mostly] crummy weather during our trip, the experience with the hotel was great. I’d absolutely use the program again.

i totally agree with u.

i always try have a primary strat that can be consistently applied to max out all the benefits of a card. otherwise, the card becomes much less valuable if its dominated by YMMV benefits.

my default strat for FHR has always been unload in vegas for many years. vegas is the mecca of all conferences and i spend months out there. hotel prices can be very low and FHR becomes a huge win.

so i was hoping EDIT to provide similar FHR value. not a headache benefit. but outside of vegas, credits like EDIT and FHR become laughable. properties in major cities like SFO JFK MIA are just crazy talk.

like u said, admin work is the least of our worries vs paying $500-$1k+/night.

also, the UA club card has a similar EDIT FHR benefit called Renowned Hotels and Resorts w/ $200 annual credits. but it runs on the chase platform w/ double resort fees, so i havent used it yet.

The Quest card has a $150 annual credit with Renowned Hotels and Resorts. From what i've been able to see, based on where i travel (Asia) it's the Edit Hotels except they're not called Edit here. Still has a list of benefits including $100 in house credit.

I looked at Vegas and wss stunned on the amount of fees and taxes!

I booked an IHG stay through JPMR Travel, and the stay is in my IHG app. I don't know how it there, but I do know that I was on the phone with an IHG Diamond agent who instructed me to download the app and there it was. (The Diamond level is a benefit from JMPR---I've not stayed at an IHG property before.) :)

EDIT change question here. I booked a room through chase edit at the Fairmount Banff at the end of December 2025 to use the $250 credit and paid for the rest with points at 2x boost (this was during the window when the Points Boost dropped to 1.65x but I was given the difference in a credit to make it 2x value). I looked today and somehow chase has booked me for a 1 queen room when I specifically booked a 2.queen room. The 2 queen is still available on Chase Edit for my dates for a slightly higher rate . The rea is fully cancellable or changeable still

The question is how do I go about having chase change this to the correct room category? I assume if I just cancelled and rebooked , I would lose the $250 edit credit that I have already received , and potentially the 2x points boost differential credit. How do I call chase travel (ugh) and convey that I need this to just be changed with me paying the cost difference so I don't lose these credits. Any department that I specifically need to talk to here?

I would try the hotel directly first.

Chase’s policy is usually cancel and rebook ; your situation is a little different if your room type changed of course but dealing with the hotel may just be a simpler solution.

I will try them, but I assume since Chase Edit is still considered a third party booking there is probably no way for them to change my room type, especially since it's a higher category / more expensive room. It's prepaid so I don't see how they could possibly charge the difference.

But since Chase understands zero but cancel and rebook unlike an actual functional OTA, I will get crushed by both losing the $250 2025 edit credit and the 2x point boost credit. Very frustrating situation especially since Chase somehow confirmed the wrong room type.

Anything I can do to just change the reservation dates rather than having to cancel it entirely and then rebook?

And if I cancel and rebook, will Chase clawback and I will forever lose the $250 Edit credit from 2025? Haven't seen DPs yet on Edit reservations made in 2025 that are canceled and rebooked in 2026.

I asked a similar question above, any real data points on this yet?

The hotel should by the Edit terms offer an upgrade if available though so you asking for a 2 queen room instead of a king may not be a tall ask at all - and hopefully does not cost you anything either.

I have cancelled edit bookings both in 2025 and 2026 and the $250 credit is clawed back within a day or so so the system links them.
mine were cancelled within the same year so I could rebook and reuse the credit but…

Can only assume if you were to cancel a 2025 booking in 2026 you are forfeiting the credit from last year.

They actually booked us into a 1 Queen room, which is likely some low category small room. Agree that in theory there is an upgrade with the Edit ,but from my understanding it's based on availability at check in and not typically available . I will definitely call and see what the hotel says though. Totally worth a shot
