Just received the updated Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Chase credit card and the card design has also switched from metal to plastic. For comparison the equivalent product from Amex, the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card is metal, so perhaps it's time to switch to Amex.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Chase ($95 AF) is equivalent to the (grandfathered only) Marriott Bonvoy Amex ($95 AF)
the chase version used to be metal, now both versions are plastic
(grandfathered only) Ritz Carlton Chase ($450 AF) is equivalent to the Marriott Bonvoy Brillant Amex ($450 AF)
Both are metal. From this, looks like the latest version of Ritz carlton is contactless metal, but lighter metal
Ritz-Carlton credit card no longer the heaviest, thickest in the market
