Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.
What counts as Travel?
Gas Station and Grocery Store purchases will also count through 12/31/21. (See post 1521.)
The following items have been reimbursed.
Airline purchases, fees & gift cards:

I would call Chase to find out your exact statement closing date. Yours is one of the unique timing situations. With that due date, your statement date might be:
November 30, which means you will have nearly all of November and December to receive your 2016 $300 travel credits.
- OR -
December 1, which means you only have November to receive your 2016 $300 travel credits.

Wiki says travel credit refunds "airline purchases"... does this include ticket itself? Flying on UA.

This is a bit confusing... I got approved a few days ago (Nov. 1 to be exact) and got my card on the 4th, but when I go online and see my "Next payment due" it says Dec. 26th. That's almost 2 months worth of transactions on the first statement? Shouldn't my closing date be earlier than that?
I called Chase and they said statement date is Dec 1 (which explains the payment date later that month). No payment date in November since no statement was generated.
You have until Dec 1 to earn the 2016 credit.
FYI for others, Chase rep said first statement date will always be one month after account opening, so it appears there is still time to apply and get the credit for 2016.

I applied for 2 CSR (wife and myself) on 11/1. Instant approval on both and received both cards on 11/3. The 1st statement date on #1 card is 11/22. The 1st statement date on #2 card is 11/27.

EZPass NY (I think the MTA one) no longer is posting as travel. It did through mid-October but seems to have reverted to 1 point per dollar. Chase is saying that EZpass has changed its billing code to "government goods and services" and therefore will no longer offer travel credit.

According to the DPs posted just a few posts above yours, unfortunately the Chase reps are proven one more time they are pretty clueless.
