Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.
What counts as Travel?
Gas Station and Grocery Store purchases will also count through 12/31/21. (See post 1521.)
The following items have been reimbursed.
Airline purchases, fees & gift cards:

I'm assuming Delta gift cards are still fair game? Do we have to purchase in $50 increments like it was for the Amex Platinum (before June of 2019), or will a $300 gift card purchase be reimbursed?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Bump
bump. Could someone please provide DP on this? I have less than 2 months left until my credits reset. My wife and I each have a sapphire reserve but we might lose out on $600 if we don’t spend. Can’t take any trips anytime soon. Any help on this please?

I'd assume so. You don't have to play any wonky games with the amount either like you did with Amex.
As an aside, I'd presume the lack of recent DPs regarding buying GCs are because, a) this travel credit is easy to use and many of us use it organically, and b) even if you don't have immediate travel plans, you can buy refundable things that qualify for the credit, and when you cancel them, the travel credit isn't reversed. All of which is documented in this thread and other places on the interwebz.

Does the 7x bonus earn on Lyft rides (for a "total" of 10x stacked on top of standard 3x travel) still get applied to any rides you take that are reimbursed by the $300 annual travel credit? I know the standard 3x is not awarded, but is the extra 7x? Or is that also not awarded as long as the Lyft rides are being reimbursed by the travel credit? Thanks.

That reminds me--a cooking class/experience I booked through Viator for an upcoming Ireland trip coded as travel and thus used up the entire $300 travel credit in one shot. The part of the transaction amount not covered by the $300 also earned UR as expected. Added to the wiki as well.

Any refundable airline tickets would do. No need to research, but need to make sure you read the fare rules so to make sure it is fully refundable without any penalty.

our credit renewed at close of statement 12/18/19. See the pics below. It matches the date. This worked as of 12/2019 but someone else said their $50 one worked as well!

Are there any other airline's gift cards (besides Delta) that count towards the travel credit?
