Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.

timing of travel credit refund
I've read a few slightly contradicting posts on the timing of the $300 travel credit refund.
Does the travel credit refund post shortly after the charge posts, or after statement closes?

I'm seeing it as soon as the charge posts, some have seen it even as the charge is pending, but if you're trying to do a refundable ticket or something similar, you don't need to wait for the statement to close before cancelling the ticket, as soon as the credit posts it'll stay.

If you want your credit to be counted in 2016, it needs to be on the statement that closes in 2016 with a date in 2016.
As to how quickly you want to make your purchase - well it depends on
1) when your statement closes - can you make the statement closes IN 2016.
2) how quickly the eligible transaction posts so it would be on the statement closes in 2016.

The travel credit posts immediately, but it counts toward the year in which the statement is issued. So the question remains, can I get a December statement if I'm approved on, for instance, 12/5?

No. The first statement is not generated for 30 days from when account is opened.

From what i just asked in the $300 credit thread... it does not have to appear on a statement that closes in 2016 with a 2016 date. From what i understood, if you make a purchase on say Dec 22 (plenty of time for it to clear pending before year end) and your statement doesn't close until Jan 5, you will still get the statement credit applied to your 2016 travel credit balance if your credit posts in 2016. Someone just reported today that their travel credits posted either right after clearing pending or even during pending in some circumstances.

I was able to call in just now and have my 1st statement closing date moved from Jan 9th to Dec 20th (i was approved on 11/25). The first rep i talked to said she could only move it back not forward. I hung up called again, and the second rep said she was able to change to Dec 20th closing date with a Jan 17th due date. When i log in it has not been reflected on my account yet though.

Any recent experiences on whether a single $300 Marriott physical gift card purchased from Marriott.com will post with the travel credit?
The wiki says a physical Marriott gift card worked in the past, but didn't say if it had to be purchased at a Marriott hotel, as opposed to at marriott.com

Longtime lurker, this is my first post.
Just applied for CSR and was approved instantly.
The Payment Due date in my online account shows as Jan 6, 2017.
I believe that means my statement date is some time in Dec 1-2 week and I can get 300 for this year. Can any one please confirm my understanding.
