However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

My card renewed in November and I too received my certs. Took a look at the website and though it is no longer stated on the front page, you can find the language on the "ways to redeem" tab.

Right, the reply back to me said it was not available to product change to anymore- and even it was available I would need to call in.
Looks like a few people received club level upgrades so I'll call in later today and see what they say.

This assertation that club upgrade certs are no longer available has been circulating off and on for a while on this thread. It's been debunked before and has never been true. I received mine a few months ago.

Derp moment on my part, I had selected my Freedom Card- instead of the Bonvoy card hence the weird SM reply from the rep asking me to apply for the Bonvoy card. Called in and confirmed it is still PC-able- though since I haven't had the card for 12 months yet I can't.

Hi,
My Ritz card anniversary date is July 3. My understanding is if I spend $75,000 between my anniversary year Jul 3 - Jul 2, I will receive the Platinum status. Platinum Elite status will be valid for the rest of the calendar year and through December of the following year.
So if I complete my $75K spend on 1/31/2020 (which is between July 3, 2019 to July 2, 2020), will I have the elite status for the remaining 2020 through 12/31/2021?
Thanks.

Platinum Elite Status: Each account anniversary year you make Purchases totaling $75,000 or more you will qualify for Platinum Elite Status through December 31 of the following year. “Account anniversary year” means the year beginning with your account open date through the anniversary of your account open date, and each 12 months after that. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying for the Platinum Elite Status award to be applied to your Marriott BonvoyTM account. To qualify for and maintain Platinum Elite Status your account must be open and not in default. If you do not qualify for this bonus offer, in order to receive Platinum Elite benefits you must qualify for Platinum Elite Status under the terms of the Marriott Bonvoy program. Only one Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card account per Marriott Bonvoy member, (Marriott Bonvoy member must be the primary cardmember on that account), is eligible for the Platinum Elite Status award. JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or failure to provide the Platinum Elite benefits and services.

Has anyone received the new card designs yet?
Did the card change to plastic after the merger, or is it the same heavy metal card?
Thanks.

Still metal, but more akin to the Saphire Reserve card. As for design, its a bit less cluttered imo and no longer shows your Bonvoy number..

I assume that with RC Residences (Honolulu for example) since there is no club floor, you can't use this benefit of the card at all...not to mention the property is offering a large discount if you book multiple nights, and this removes the ability to get the $100 credit. Nice way to basically remove the value for using this card at a RC location. :-(

Not all RC Residences participate in the Marriott Rewards program, but the RC Residences Waikiki Beach does participate. As you correctly note, it has no club floor, so while you can't use the Club upgrade benefit, you can use the $100 credit. You would need to call RC reservations to see if you can use the $100 credit with the room discount for multiple nights.
