Discussion continues HERE.

This card is under 5/24. You can override 5/24 by having an in-branch (only! online prequalification does NOT override 5/24) pre-approval, or by already being Chase Private Client (as in you see the "Chase Private Client" text on the login screen of the Chase mobile app.)

Landing page with bonus offer (100,000 UR after spending $4,000 in 90 days) is now live:

https://creditcards.chase.com/credit...04&IS2F=Y71UH0

Application page: https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWe...L3P&PROMO=DF01

100,000 UR points is worth $1,000 as statement credit, $1,500 when used for travel through the Chase portal, or potentially more if transferred to a partner.

Card features are here:https://www.chase.com/card-benefits/...reserve/travel. The card's Priority Pass includes unlimited guests.

Schumer box on 8/15/2016:

Chase Sapphire Reserve Ultimate Rewards Program Agreement
https://chaseonline.chase.com/resources/RPA0511_Web.pdf

Chase Sapphire Reserve Guide to Benefits
https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirereserve

The purchases made that you receive the $300 travel credit (or $85/$100 trusted traveler program credits) for do count towards the minimum spend, but the annual fee does not.

The card is made of the same material as the CSP, and is being shipped UPS Next Day Air Saver to everyone after production (currently (8/26) appears to have about a 3-day delay after approval before shipping.)

Thanks! Guess I'll be waiting until 9-1 then.

Hmm, I just paid my annual fee for the CSP.

Could I "upgrade" to this and get a partial credit back on it?

2) This is more likely a positive outcome: if Chase wants to drive initial signups, not opening the card to 5/24 customers will massively cut back on the available pool. The majority of the credit-card using population is not going to be interested in a $300+ annual fee card (heck, most of them are Dave Ramsey fans and will never get a card with a fee at all). From a bookkeeping perspective, Chase would likely see fairly poor signups for this card if 5/24 violators were excluded, whereas with the Freedom Unlimited there was never really any chance of that flopping (no-AF, easy 1.5% cash back, and nice sign up bonus--appealing to a much wider audience).

This isn't to say I think Chase WILL let us in, but to me that would be the why if they did--making sure as much of this card's limited audience can get it as possible.
One thing for sure. Citi Prestige holders will dump that one for this as Citi reduced the perks significantly on that card. I have to wonder about the decision makers on these projects and promos. I fully understand why Chase has the 5/24. Chase feels (through data for sure) that if you get 5/24 that means you are seeking the promotions and therefore have minimal value to them. They figure you will move out to the next promotion offered. THe customer base on $450 cards has to be limited with several cards in that space already. If I can get his I will. However per 5/24 I have more than 5 new cards in the last 24 months. The affiliate omissions must have dried up for Chase like crazy due to these policies

I'm still trying to figure out whether to apply.

I live in an AA hub city (and have an AA credit card) so transferring UR to BA doesn't do much good. The $300 credit is nice but that leaves me with a $150 net AF (yes, there's the GE credit, but that's only $20 per year equivalent). The confirmation that the $100 flight discount won't apply makes it harder as well. I can transfer points to Southwest (which is probably the second most accessible airline from my city) but I don't think those equate to any better than 1.5% payout on a base fare.

Besides the AA card, I have two other AF cards, including the Starwood AMEX (at only $95, which does transfer to AA) and the HHonors Reserve card that gives a free night after $10k spend, so not sure I see enough value to justify right now (aside from the sign-up bonus). I have to use a corporate card for business, so annual spend is $25k.

Someone can convince me otherwise, perhaps

At least for the first card year, the $300 credit can be applied twice. So that's $600 for your $450 annual fee. Then if you just use the 100k points for travel instead of transferring to a partner, that's another $1500. Plus Global Entry, $100.

So, for the first year, you get $2200 in value for your $450. Then after that you can decide if you want to keep it. Definitely worth it to apply.

As someone who got approved for CSR yesterday, I'm definitely planning to drop my Prestige at next renewal unless I get one of the really nice retention offers. I don't have many paid hotel stays, so the main draw is Priority Pass with 2 guests, but I've used that benefit maybe once or twice in past year. Too many nice high AF cards out there right now! Also have AA Exec (definitely keeping as I use AC a lot), MB Plat (dropping at next renewal), and Biz Plat (undecided if I will renew). In retrospect I should have timed my Biz Plat application for 1 year after MB Plat, but signup bonus was just too tempting at the time.

If Prestige kept AC access I might have kept that and dropped the Exec, but I do enjoy getting a few friends and family members access to the AC as AUs on my Exec.

Interested to see which benefits are passed along to AU of the card, if any. PP membership, Global entry, etc.

Bummer, I had missed that bit in TPG's post. Actually reading through the comments it looks like the post was updated with that info, here's the sentence - so I'm assuming they got this straight from Chase and not just from a lack of it being mentioned in the marketing materials we've seen:

"Reserve is a Visa Infinite card, and while you won’t have access to all of the same perks you’ll get with the Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card, such as a $100 airfare discount..."

The response is the same every time: "Oh...$450. That's a lot."

Followed by me: "But it's not really $450. With the air credit it's $150, and the other benefits are worth $150 at least."

And the response: "But...$450. That's a lot."
My brother to a T. Smart as hell (surgeon). Has $3k a month office expenditure. Has the free cheapest crappiest DL card giving 1 Skymile per dollar. I have been after him for YEARS to get an Ink or at least SPG or 2% cashback or SOMETHING.

His response: "Those have an annual fee, right?"

"Yeah, like $75-95, but you'd get back hundreds a year, maybe thousands, in value. Pushing $1000 or more maybe in year one from signup bonus alone. Then if you do not like it, cancel."

"I am NOT paying an annual fee. Case closed."

I even offered to manage it for him as he is so busy. No dice. What can you do?

Thumbs up If only they gave 3X points for shopping at COSTCO

3X points for shopping at COSTCO would make this an absolute keeper!

Don't close it, downgrade to a Freedom or Freedom Unlimited - no AF and different/complementary UR earning structure to CSR.
