IMPORTANT NOTE: As of April 2018, a new IHG card is being released. There are changes, including a limit to the value of the annual free night certificate (40,000 point vs. any hotel).

Existing card members can use "any hotel" certificates that were issued/will be issued prior to April 30th. Any Anniversary Night issued BEFORE May 1, 2018 is still valid at any IHG hotel worldwide.
Certificates issued AFTER May 1 will be under the new T & C's.

Just applied for the IHG card got the dreaded 30 day pending message, is there no more number to call to get them to approve it faster?

I don't think the 30 day message is bad. If you don't get an instant approval, that's the default message. Just give it a day or three and see if the status changes to "7-10 days," or "2 weeks." Or the card might just show up on your Chase log in.

My SO applied yesterday and didn't get an instant approval. Called the status line and got the 7-10 day message. Should we call now or wait for the letter first? Thanks.

New targeted 100K $2K spend offer just popped up when logging in DH's account to cancel some award bookings. Quite tempting.

I got this as well and would like to take advantage, but prefer to wait a couple of months when I'll have property taxes due to fulfill the spend requirement. Does anyone know how long these types of targeted offers usually remain available?
