has anything changed with this card? I applied for it and confirmed the bonus offer when activating. Did not buy a flight. I got the initial 50k but will I get denied the second 50k?

Your 2nd 50K would not come UNTIL anniversary AFTER you pay the 2nd year fee of $75, and possible another purchase after the 1st year. Hence the thread title of 100K $150 fee (2 x $75 - one each year.)

Nobody would know UNTIL his anniversary rolls around for the 2nd 50K. Though I would incline to think everyone who keeps the card thru anniversary and pays the 2nd year's $75 fee would get their 2nd 50K.

How does point redemption work with the airline partners? Do I login to the British Airways website and they will show the partners availability?

I just signed up. Had to do two tries. One with Firefox and a second time with Internet Explorer which worked. Didn't get instant approval so went to payment page and closed it.

I did some random searches but can't find any domestic flights out of New York. What am I doing wrong or BA only flies internationally from NYC? I definitely can still use it to go to Asia & Europe but want to use it for domestic flights also if possible.

You may want to read up these threads in BA forum to get yourself better a understanding on how BA Avios work, as well as not be at sticker shock when you see the fee associated with it for your intended usage of "go to Asia & Europe".

Always remember BA program is a distance AND segment based program. Each additional segment costs you extra based on the distance band said segment is in - therefore the total miles cost would be the sum of all segments add together - the bands not the actually folown miles.

Also, each airline and hotel has its own forum on this site - you would find much more information regarding the usage of the program "currency" than on this forum which is mainly for discussions on the various bonus offerings, but NOT for the efficient usage of each program though the discussions often brought up inevitably. However you learn a whole lot more going to the program forum to search / read / ask questions.

Both myself and the SO were approved for this BA card after faking the BA booking and then calling Recon a day or two later. The 100k bonus offer was confimed unprompted over the phone, but like others have said the CSRs don't seem to understand the 50k + 50k after 1yr nature of this version of the offer.

One small hiccup that others might have some insight into -> after receiving our cards, neither of them say "Visa Signature" on them nor do they have the chip featured in the promo materials. I called Chase and was told they would send me a proper chip't card, but when the SO called they told her that the chip't card was a totally different product . The $75 annual fees have been charged to both of our accounts and the cards look identical so they certainly seem to be the same...

Should people approved for this 2x50k version of the card be concerned about the lack of the "Visa Signature" stamp or the inconsistent responses from Chase about chip't vs unchip't cards?

Are your credit limits at least $5,000? Does the card say VISA Platinum?

You will first be considered for a Visa Signature card. If you do not qualify for that product, you will automatically be considered for a Visa Platinum card, which has different fees, benefits, and credit availability. For pricing details, please see Pricing & Terms. For benefits details, please read your credit card benefits materials, which will be mailed after your account is established.
Confusion over EMV chips is common at all of the USA banks which issue such cards. I would not attribute any special significance to it.

I got the 50k/50k deal, but it wouldn't appear for my wife. Since I thought it was ending in June, I got one that requires the big spend for the bonus.

Now I figured out what I was doing wrong and can get the 50k/50k application up for my wife.

I just got the card. Should I reapply for her under the new terms, call or just send a secure email asking them to give her the 50k/50k offer.

I know I'll get rejected if she reapplies, but would there be a hard credit pull? If not, maybe that's the easiest way of documenting the offer.

Thanks in advance!

ETA I spoke to a specialist who said she couldn't match the terms, that I would have to reapply for a new card. Since I really wanted the 50k/50k terms, I thought it would be worth risking another hard pull and applied again. The reconsideration line will be more reasonable I expect.

Unfortunately the answer is yes if she re-applies. For switch offer, it wouldn't.

It is a bit tough to get Chase to switch offer in this case as the CSR would not easily see / verify this offer - but may be you can take a screen shot of the offer, then send it as an attachment to your Plead for Switch SM to Chase and see if it would work.

Both cards just say "Visa". One card has an $8k line (new credit) and the other is $2k (split line).

My understanding is that $5,000 is the minimum line for VISA Signature, but this does not mean that all cards over that limit are issued as Signature. If this is accurate the one card is certainly not a VISA Signature, but the other could be. I suggest you ask Chase because there is always the possibility the card was produced on generic stock due to a manufacturing issue.

I wound up going with the reapplication given the short window before the deal expires. Any idea of the minimum number of days I should wait after application before calling the reconsideration line? I don't need to wait for a denial, just want them to have all the info in the system.

24 to 48 hours.

Though I am not convince this would go the same way as the regular 100K that the bloggers have links on their sites and are told the link would be pulled by July 18.

Hi guys, I tried to do this on the BA website but when I got to the end to pay I never saw any credit card offer.

I'm not sure if I have to book a ticket or not. Has anybody been able to do this recently without paying for a ticket?

Thanks
DJ

Same here. I couldn't get the application to come up either. I was able to bring up the page several times in June to show friends. Maybe BA took it down.

Edit: If you go to BA.com, scroll down and you'll see the CC ad. This is the version of 50k miles after 1st purchase with $95 annual fee. Looks like you don't need to go through the purchasing trouble. I admit that I didn't read all the older postings so maybe this information is well known for a while. But I guess it won't hurt to mention it again. )
