============================================

[/b] 50 + 5k offer for personal card. Requires MileagePlus login; redirects to https://www.theexplorercard.com/50kAFW
  • 50k miles after $3000 spend within first 3 months
  • 5k miles for adding an authorized user
  • No annual fee first year
  • No FTF
  • Each calendar year, you are eligible to receive one 10,000-mile bonus after you reach $25,000 in net purchases on your Card.

For discussion of card benefits, see the master thread in the United forum.
My math says a 50K offer. Where do the extra points come from?
The extra 5000 points come from adding an authorized user after you have been approved for the card.
Is there a business card?
Yes, and Flyertalk has a thread devoted to the business card: United business card: 50k+10k united miles
Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

I got the Explorer card Jan 30 and 50k miles posted in Feb so I hadn't been following these threads lately. Just noticed this thread with the new offer today so I sent off a SM to Chase this morning. I'm like a day under the 90 day new account limit. Just heard back.

Dear Mabuk dan gila,

Thank you for your recent inquiry on your United
MileagePlus Explorer credit card account.

As you requested, we have applied a $50.00 statement
credit to your account. You will see this adjustment on
your next billing statement.
^^

50 bux is 50 bux. Love this board.

Glad I poked back over here to see the new promotions. I just sent a SM to Chase to request the $50 statement credit and 5,000 mile AU bonus. ^^

Are credit card miles taking as long to post as flight miles these days? Statement closed a few days ago, shows the 55K earned, nothing posted yet though. Hoping it posts during the week because it's the wife's card and she hates when I have to get her involved in phone calls to resolve issues.

3 Weeks ago, I applied for and got approved for this card.

10 days ago, I had the $50 statement credit applied, and I got a letter stating that they upgraded my offer to the 50k points.

3 days ago, I got another letter stating that I wont get any points because I had a United card last year (Regular United Visa).

So far, no points have posted to my account.

Anyone else have this happen? Suggestions on what to do?

What is AU Bonus?

AU = authorized user (like adding your wife/husband to your account)

You are supposed to receive 5,000 miles for one AU

I am in the same shoes as your brother. I just signed up for Mileage Plus dining and also made a purchase that I needed through the UA shopping mall. If you have absolutely no need to make an online purchase, the cheapest thing for you to do is order a pack of gum from Walmart through the UA shopping mall. Should be ~$2 including taxes and shipping.
Free is cheaper.

I signed up for points.com and registered my BestBuy reward zone acccount there, as well as my brand new zero balance United MileagePlus account. Then I swapped 48 Best Buy points (gotten entirely for free by taking audience rewards quizzes at 2 pts per correct answer) for 13 united miles. The process took like 3 days, but BAM yesterday the 65K offer showed up for me as soon as the transfer completed.

You can just transfer like 10 miles from another FF program into mileage plus via points.com, even. Of course it won't be 1:1 but still.. gets you enough points to get the offer.

Sorry if this has already been posted earlier in this thread, but I didn't notice it -

The offer (now) includes the following language:

"If your account is not open for at least six months, United and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus miles from your MileagePlus Program account."

I app'd using the instructions in an earlier post recommending to log in to your MP account (mine had 1k recently xfered from UR acct), then click on "landing page" link from page 1 of this thread and got the 65000 mile + $50 credit offer. Completed the app and was instantly approved. Having miles in your MP account definitely makes a difference.

Read the first post carefully. You MUST have a positive UA mileage balance and you MUST be logged into your UA account for the page to come up.
