Help! Missing Mileage Request Rejection

Help! Missing Mileage Request Rejection

Flew JAL this summer and never got my Asia Miles. The website said I could fax in my e ticket to claim them but they replied today saying I need to send in my boarding passes... I usually keep my boarding passes for keepsake value, so does anyone know if they would mail them back to me?

Also, I'm missing one of the four boarding passes, so I'm probably out of luck for those miles hey?

They will not send the boarding passes back to you, you should make photo copies before sending them the originals.

You could try to verify and copy your boarding passes at the Asia Miles service counter at HKG departures level. Other than that, sending the originals is standard policy for all airlines.

If missing a boarding pass, maybe your travel agent (if you booked through them) could help. Otherwise, dealing with JAL about this might cost you more time and money than the missing miles are really worth.

You are out of luck on the missing one I'm afraid. I also keep my boarding passes for keepsake value such as my 3 Class F pass. You dont really need to give them the passes, I gave them a color copy of the boarding pass from AA for my parents once and that worked fine. I did gave the paperwork to the asia miles desk at HKG though

I've done this before. The photocopy was rejected and my request was rejected. I called them and they say they need the original or they can't process it, and no they won't mail it back to you.

As for the missing boarding pass, again you're out of luck. Your TA won't help much because Asia Miles want proof that you have actually flown your itiniery, not proof of purchase of a ticket (and yes their website is idiotic for saying just mail in your ticket, but the actual missing miles form say you have to mail in your boarding pass.)

I'm just surprise in the digital age they make this all complicated. All they have to do is run a database query to the airline on the exact flight and see if you've flown on it. But they make you jump through hoops with silly paper work just to make you work.

I also had the same experience with me and my family flying on AA earlier this year. I have flown AA for nearly 4 years, and each time they would always post within 14 days. But this time, it never posted, and I actually threw away the boarding passes. Emailed both CX and AA but to no avail. Has everyone tried to go to the Asia Miles desk in the airport to file missing miles request? I don't really trust the mail.

Also, what if I lost the e-ticket receipt and only have the original boarding passes for an AY flight. Will that be okay to submit missing mileage request?

Oh didn't know that before although my process was back in Feb 2008, sorry for the wrong idea and for correcting me cathay boy

Same here, plus with what I experience with AAdvantage this year, it is way easier to ask and get what I'm asking. To the OP, if you really want to try to keep the original pass, give the asia miles agent at HKG your boarding pass and ask them to verify and make the copy themselves so they can be sure you haven't changed it. If not, I guess your out of luck then.

With my previous experience, any AA flight taken by friday will credit by next thursday midnight HKG time. If not, allow an extra thursday to credit. But if you actually threw away your pass, I guess go start an advantage account since their process is partly computerized so you may not the bp and may get lucky on the credit. I always go to the desk at HKG because I feel it's a safer process, plus the agent can correct you if you don't have enough paperwork and is easier to keep track to see if they are doing the request by looking in your account

Can't help you on your AY flight, no experience in that field but someone on this board should be able to help you, good luck!

To get proof of having taken your flight, is to get your TA to print out the e-ticket copy of your ticket. When each flight has been taken, the online status will change from OPEN to USED. That is the only proof that you will have that shows that you took the flight as the coupon would have been used.

If you're missing BPs, usually a baggage tag will suffice...

But you need to first find out why your miles didn't credit. Can it be because that the fare basis does not earn you any miles in the first place?

Airlines don't link their departure management systems. There is no way to do database query other than calling the operating airlines. And the operating airlines may need to go offline to do research as past flight record is not usually kept online. Keep in mind that you can claim credit for the past 6-12 months, depending program. It is a rather complicated process unless it is on the same airlines.

Well I didn't intentionally book a discounted fare, I just booked Y class online. Besides the " Y " class on the bp, there is an " N " on by the date, maybe that indicates no miles? I guess I should just ask on the JAL forum.

I don't think "N" class at JAL earns Asia Miles. You can find eligible classes at the Asia Miles website, "earn miles" and then "airline partners" (or similar). The earning tables are hyperlinked under the respective airline logos.

from my experience with MPO/AM I didn't have to mail back the real original BP, but just fax to them...it's mostly for AA.

I faxed in a claim for missing MU miles last year, and CX wanted the original BPs.
