Same here, plus with what I experience with AAdvantage this year, it is way easier to ask and get what I'm asking. To the OP, if you really want to try to keep the original pass, give the asia miles agent at HKG your boarding pass and ask them to verify and make the copy themselves so they can be sure you haven't changed it. If not, I guess your out of luck then.
