I have not read so much uninformed nonsense on any thread for years.
New aircraft orders were placed from as far back 2013 and remain undelivered.
With new WB aircraft deliveries slower than at any previous time CX (and along with many other major airlines) has little option but to keep the old frames flying while initiating major refurbishment programs that will fit new cabins to most 777-300 and 330s.
What do critics here suggest is a better solution.

CX is rhe only one who has not a single widebody delivery 2024 to 2027....
for an almost 90% widebody airline....
CX 2013 order got delayed by CX as well.
So even in 2027 CX is looking at maybe 2 new widebodies because CX management chose to delay.
CX could have ordered more a350s etc but chose not to and still are sleeping as 2030 to 2033 slots fill up....

Of course wide body aircraft are being delivered but as yet no 777-9s which Cathey expected 5 years ago. The 777 is a cornerstone of the CX fleet and perform a different function for the airline than the existing 46 A350s
No 777 -9 aircraft will be delivered to any customer prior 2027 where CX is expecting the first 3 to be delivered
Cathays 30 X A330neo aircraft orders are scheduled for delivery starting in a couple of years.
