Drifting way off topic, but many helpers in HK are graduates with training as teachers, nurses etc. Sadly they can earn more as a helper in HK than in those jobs in the Philippines. Surely you know that?

I almost never do this anymore post-Covid (on a plane or otherwise). People seem much more angry these days - I see a lot more fights happening whether its driving or on the MTR.
I suppose having a firm on board policy by CX + enforcement by the F/A's would be the best way to go.

That being said, some people should have known better.
The second case - a businesswoman - I was very unable to forgive. This was in a sit down dining area - in what part of the world is it appropriate to have a videocall on speaker? Even if appropriate in her part of the world, would she kindly mind that no-one else in this part of the world does it and "respect local customs"?

Emirates lounge in Melbourne. Two kids about 7 or 8 years old running back and forth screaming at the top of their lungs. Unbelievable behaviour. I went over and sharply told them to shut up. They did, but I was then approached by a lounge attendant who leant down to me and said "the man over there has told me to come and tell you off for speaking to his kids. Sorry about this, nothing I can do. Please pretend I am telling you off. But thanks anyway." And the lady across from me thanked me for getting them to shut up and said something about "parents today!". Boy was I glad when I saw them board a different flight from me!

I wonder what would've been the father's reaction if you asked the lounge attendant, "would it be okay if after I pretend to listen to you telling me off, then we give each other a big joyful hug?" and the attendant says yes.

Apparently not given their insistence on immediately turning on fairly loud music in the cabin immediately on landing. With a long taxi to gate sadly common now at HKG (and some other airports), it is the last thing I want at the end of a long, tiring flight and I find it the opposite of relaxing.

HAHA, this thread really made me laugh. Yes it's incredibly annoying and I wish more airlines were more cognizant of asking people to wear earbuds. Bluetooth ones from a certain manufacturing giant aren't exactly expensive anywhere in the world, so an excuse of the lack of a headphone jack isn't going to win you any friends. You can get cheap bluetooth buds for a few dollars if needed though they may not sound great.
I had this exact thing in a CI flight from MNL last week where a Taiwanese guy was taking his prized Filipina trophy with him back to Taiwan. She looked 100% like a Japanese Anime girl and would not stop blaring TikTok until her signal cut off around 5-7,000 feet. I was very thankful when that happened, but couldn't believe the CI cabin attendants said nothing at all. (please don't start down the road of how I knew where each of them was from, I've been in Asia for 20 years and am pretty accurate on that). Being from the US originally where this lewd behavior is also extremely common, I'm very thankful that Japanese lounge and cabin attendants will quash it immediately. Once in a while I actually need to take a business call in the lounge, but I have the good sense to seek out an out of the way place, or in Japan the designated phone rooms.

We were both collecting drinks, pax was in a video call.
The bartender correctly asked the passenger to use headset.
The pax said he did not have. I then said he needs to put the call into phone mode, using my hand to indicate to use his phone as a phone handset
He walked away and tried sticking the speaker against his ear for a while, then just reverted to previous video call state.

Does that dude have a beard? Does he have a man bun? Wouldn't surprise me. Whenever Mrs. Pickles sees such a w@nker, she'll walk by them and make a "L" sign with her hand to her forehead. She also has a whoopie cushion, and when particularly egregious, she'll sit on the cushion in their general direction.

I think GZ Metro got the right idea (RMB 500 fines for speaker use on trains w.e.f. 1 Jan 2024)
