Customers traveling in First or Business class on select non-stop domestic U.S. transcontinental flights (JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO, and vice-versa) are eligible for lounge access.
I am not sure if the CX lounge receptionists are well-versed in this part of the rule, though. You may need to push for it.

Was just rejected from SFO, because the lounge manager (not attendant, I sought out the manager) said that she's tired of folks accessing on arrival and she understood that the ow website and terms permit it, but she didn't want it happening in her lounge. I was very clear that this was against the ow rules and she was very clear that she understood and didn't care. I left because I didn't want her to call security, she seemed unstable
