Missing miles help!
Hi guys,
Three legs of my flights are missing and I just went in and submitted a claim. However, there is no option to select business or any cabin class when submitting. It now shows discounted economy on the missing point request status, does it matter? Will I not get the points for business? Not sure who to call if needed. Anyone had that happened before?

I submitted my missing miles claim 3 days ago, got the miles and points just now.
This was for my flight 2 weeks ago. So not sure if it was just late or because of my claim. But my wife’s miles were already credited a few days after our flight.

It no longer takes "a couple of days". I submitted a claim in January and am still waiting. I tried to contact them today via whatsapp and they said "just keep waiting". They also said I could email [email protected] so that is an option which might help you. I tried that too (again) today... to see if I can get some traction. Cathay customer service is a heap of s&&t these days.

Last month I helped a relative to claim missing miles for a CX flight back in September 2022. The claim showed up on transaction page like yours, and it was credited within a week, although the request was updated as "rejected".
However if you're claiming missing miles for partner or codeshared flights, it's a real nightmare. Those claims will not show up on the transaction page which you'll have no idea of the progress. CX is also very strict with the supporting documents I had my first request rejected the next day because I didn't attach the e-ticket receipt. I thought the boarding pass was good enough to prove that I was on the flight, plus e-ticket number was clearly shown on my boarding pass. I resubmitted the claim with both the boarding pass and e-ticket receipt, and it took like 2 or 3 months before I called CX to check on the status of my claim (I was unusually patient with their 6-8 weeks processing window). The agent said they couldn't see claim history, but the miles and points were credited coincidentally shortly after the call.
Since then I've had 2 other claims for partner airline flights, which the second claim took a long time and magically cleared shortly after I called CX to ask for the status.
The third claim happened just last month. I called CX 2 days ago to see if the same magic happens, however as of this moment there's no update yet.

They eventually will. It takes a few days to appear on the "Missing Status Points or Asia Miles request status" section of the "Latest transactions" page.

Also I've never received auto-reply emails upon submitting claims for missing miles...

Hmmm...very strange. Since Jan this year, I have taken four trips. Each trip originated with a ticket issued in Taipei. The routing would be TPE-HKG-Destination-HKG-TPE. The HKG ports were stopovers, and not transits.
Destinations were Tokyo, Osaka, Paris, and most recently, Shanghai.
On ALL FOUR OF THESE TRIPS, the status points and miles for the THIRD sector (i.e. Destination-HKG) have failed to post automatically to my Cathay account. I have had to submit claims retroactively, and then the status points and miles would appear 3-4 days after submission. For all other sectors, everything has posted within 1-2 days after the flight.

Data points:
QR/AA segments, largely AA coded, flown between Sept & Dec 22, claimed in January23.
AA code/metal -posted within 1-2 weeks
AA code/QR metal- anywhere between 3-8 weeks, similar to QR code/QR metal.
one AA code/QR metal that I did have the frequent flier number on when flying, ~3 weeks back- yet to post.
Interestingly, I had an AA code/metal segment in biz that I ended up not taking, getting on an earlier flight (standby in coach/weather approaching)- retroactive claim for biz rejected..was waiting to have the 10mins or so it would have taken to draft an Original routing credit request email..only, I forgotand the miles turned up on their own after a few weeks!

I had a similar issue as OP, missing mileage showed discount economy but I got business miles credited.
Also Ive taken a number of AA and QR flights recently and none credited automatically. Nuisance to claim sector by sector when the site doesnt show progress and it feels like it goes into a black hole
