Regarding transiting at PVG
I will be traveling to PVG on September 16th, and have the following flight itinerary:
Sep 16, 2015, CX368, HKG-PVG, 08:35 - 11:10, a333
Sep 16, 2015, CX367, PVG-HKG, 12:20 - 15:05, a333
Sep 16, 2015, CX542, HKG-HND, 16:25 - 21:35, b744
...
And I wish to ask how should I proceed with the first two flights...
I will of course do online checkin and only have cabin luggage.
But specifically,
1) In the early morning of the Sep 16, when at HKG, can I ask them to print all my boarding passes for me? As the mobile boarding pass won't work at PVG.
2) Upon arriving at PVG, what should I do, so that I have enough time to get off and board the same aircraft. (I am assuming this is the same physical aircraft that I will be on...
3) Let's assume I need to have check-in luggage too, what should I do with them?
Thanks guys...

This is theoretically legit but not doable under practical conditions. You would need a very fast dash and assume they don't have to make you clear immigrations. I have seen transfer signs in PVG but never actually seen a counter so cannot comment on the presence of one.
When at HKG, your check in can be tagged to HND
And 368 and 367 are on the same rotation.

Going into PVG is the problem, full stop. IF ATC says your outbound flight needs to stay on the ground coz PRC military needs the airspace, you've already missed your connection into HND without even leaving HKG.

There are some airports where CX in HKG cannot issue the return BP. I am not sure if PVG is among them.
Early morning flights are usually on time. So arrival in PVG in OK, but I am not sure about such transit to the return flight.
The departure from PVG is already after 12. That can be an issue. Even if you can get PVG-HKG BP in HKG and rush through everything, if the flight is delayed, you may not make it to the HND flight.
If you are not doing a mileage (or club points) run or if that is not substantially cheaper, I will advise against it. Even if you are doing a MR or such fare is less expensive, I will still advise against it.

A few years back, due to an extremely cheap ticket I flew from HKG to USA via PVG on AA. Based on that experience I would never transit again at PVG. PVG is simply not setup as a transit airport. I've heard about certain airlines (Air NZ) supposedly have a transit procedure but never seen it personally.

Agreed not really useful if you want a quick transit of the Pacific Ocean to the USA.
Happy wandering

I've been thru PVG several times. There is no transit option. You will be required to clear customs and immigration. Then upstairs to reclear security and customs.
CX does not offer transit assistance. I think you are a risk of making this. My average time clearing on entry (with an APAC card) is 15 minutes. But the delays are always upstairs on departure. Security is dreadfully slow and even in J my average wait is 30 min, and the exit immigration.

to OP, don't do your planned itinerary. it's a mission impossible. like other FTers have mentioned above, PVG is not really designed as a transit airport. that one hour you have to transfer from 368 to 367 is simply not enough time

OP, I'll be amazed if you managed to book all three flights on a same PNR. When you get off at PVG, you have to go through immigration, regardless of your destination. I doubt 1 hour and 10 minutes will be enough.
