Hi everyone while I won't be on the first flight I am on the 350 next Friday from LGW to HKG. Travelling in economy.

We started with an 2 hour delay but are in the air now. So far i can say i love the 350. Its sooooo quiet. I would say its even more quiet then the A380 upper deck. Crew is preparing lunch now. Maybe i post some pics later.

With the A350 starting on the long haul route, I got the infamous regional equipment swap (which I totally understand)

Was booked on Sept03 CX406 HKG-TPE on the A350, hoping to try the new PEY on the A350. Got the email from CX WRT Booking Quality Control Group just now informing us that PEY is no long available due to equipment swap.

My ticket was booked in E booking class, and 2 of my companions were booked in award T booking class.

I was downgraded to Economy L booking class (with lower club points). Seat was switched from a window seat to an aisle seat.

Companions were downgraded to Economy award X booking class and given an aisle and middle seat.

The email did say that "Our Customer Sales Officer will contact you in due course to make alternative arrangement for you." Hopefully they will call tomorrow morning.

A quick search shows that most people under this situation are upgraded to J class. However, the J class availability on this flight is diminishing, showing only J5 C5 D5 I4. Some people got $40USD compensation with an upgrade certificate.

Yes! Mid-air updates!

I would like to try out the A350 on a long-haul sector to test out the following:

*Wi-Fi - I was on JAL months ago and their connection was pretty good. Enough for browsing, Snapchat, etc.

*Pressurization @ 6000 ft as well as mood lighting - I want to see what effects it has on the body. On current gen a/c, my skin tends to dry out especially my lips.

*How it rides through turbulence.

For those trying out the Wi-Fi, hopefully you can share some feedback as well as some speed test results if at all possible.

***For the mods - I think its time you rename this thread to A350 general discussion and take out the inaugural flight. ;)

Also, once the 77G pulls out of AKL, CDG and FCO, you'll most likely see those frames boosted for MAN service before MAN becomes A350.

Finnair also have 8 rows between D1 and D2. The seat is very uncomfortable. Curious to see if that's the case with CX as well.

Wifi works better as of last week on the MNL-HKG. Facebook and Instagram and emails worked smoothly.

AKL is only the 77W seasonally over the November to February period, and was in addition to the 343 service that is being replaced by the 359.

In the peak season the daytime 343 service would become the early morning additional service, in previous years the day time service would become an 343, 744 or lately an 77W. In March 2017 the additional service will become 359, making AKL up to twice daily A350.

Just wondering, but has there been any comments/posts with a thorough comparison with the 359 products compared to the existing older products?

If there aren't any, is anyone willing to do so? :)

5th A350 is flying

B-LRD took its first flight recently. This will be the next CX bird for delivery. My contact doesn't know the precise delivery date yet, but I imagine within the next 2 weeks.

Knock on wood, but it looks like CX wont have any issues fulfilling the scheduled ramp of A350 long haul services, next up FCO and AKL.

So confirmed are DUS, LGW, and next up FCO and AKL

so that is 1 alternating each for DUS and LGW and 2 for FCO and AKL, since it's daily.

How does one run such a tight ship

FCO and AKL don't go for over a month, it's probable CX will have at least 6 in the fleet by then. CX has a lot of early delivery slots.

The above dates and all the upcoming a350 schedule WERE visible on the Wikipedia CX Fleet page....until they got deleted!:td: grrrrrr.

I thus put in a shameless plug for you and anyone else to check our thread a few below about Wikipedia and maintaining the old CX flyer guide info, and also lend any help you can!
