I am not sure of the registration, but i heard that one of the A350s is flying from TLS with no JCL seats which will be installed in HKG. Could be reason for delay into service. Seems Zodiac Seats still having issues?

I wonder what's wrong with B-LRB and LRD, LRC has already been delivered, LRE has had her first flight but both LRB and LRD are still in limbo

When will CX fly the A350 to Australia?

I don't think she will fly to Australia.

What's strange is the two delivered are leased from Aercap, whilst the delayed aircraft are CX's own. I suspect the delays are less to do with anything being wrong with them and more to do with some aspect of contracting or financing.

Yeah and LRE which is also leased will most likely be delivered next.

I flew on LRA for the first time this weekend, the potable water supply was broken so the teething troubles are not over yet.

It's whisper quiet and the IFE is very impressive, but does anyone else who's flown it notice it bangs and crashes about a lot when moving on the ground?

Just tripped over this. It's a Q&A and FB live video tour with a CX captain. A lot of interesting detail eg. first time I've seen inside of a pilot rest area

Also interesting for me are the differences on the flight deck based on my visits to those the 788 and 789.

And then there is the side-stick.....and his various other details about flying the aircraft

It's unfortunate that CX didn't make a professional version of this

"Cathay Pacific Presents their New Airbus a-350 Aircraft"

(I checked upthread and did not see this posted, apologies if it's been posted elsewhere)

Thank you for posting that, found it quite interesting!

Thanks for posting. very interesting. like how the pilot was cut off in the end talking about wifi over China.. LOL;)

The pilot is Evan Summerfield, one of the senior CX pilots who has starred in various CX promotions before. This link (pictures no longer work, but the text remains) was part of the recent/defunct/ever changing CX ad campaign "People. They Make An Airline" campaign. Evan was one of the stars of that campaign.

(Evan's name is out there publicly associated with CX all over the internet).

Evan has starred in at least one other video for CX, although he didn't play the starring role. It was "day in the life of a pilot", which details SFO Richard Clausen. Evan is the captain of the crew that day, you first see him at the 2:42 mark.

He's one of the public faces of the airline.

Yes, was surprised they didn't edit that bit out - he looked so uneasy - I bet someone was moving their fingers across their throat when he said that!

Thanks. I thought it was interesting and worth posting here.

Aslo, I think it's great CX at least made an effort. Would have been nice to hear all of the questions, not only Captain Summerfield's answers.

Wifi block over China is not newsy news or so I would have thought to anyone who flies to, from or over.

Also, CX could have had that particular portion edited by professionals.

Still, I think these types of efforts are way better than the Chief Pilot of an airline writing a Q & A column in the airline's in-flight magazine.

@QRC3288 - thanks for your post. Cool info.
