Just wondering, but has there been any comments/posts with a thorough comparison with the 359 products compared to the existing older products?
If there aren't any, is anyone willing to do so? :) edit: Yup. I really like new seat. It feels more comfortable, more spacious, and better thought-out from a usage / ergonomics perspective. Better than the existing version, and now I will be disappointed to see 77w vs 359. lol Even though none of the tweaks are major in and of themselves, I'd say it is a more significant refresh than they did a few years ago on the F seat. I find the touch screen remote controls more difficult and fiddly to use, but most airlines seem to be moving that way. Food still wretched. |
As the 350s arrive, a big question is whether there will be some slack for 77Hs. I've noticed that the 77H is frequently showing up on 101 to SYD recently; not sure if this means good loads up front or vice versa poor loads in the back.

If anyone has tried the mini cabin 20 A/D seats on a long flight, please comment on them.
I believe they might be the best seats as you dont have a toilet infront of you + limited foot traffic + galley infront not being used a lot. Then again, you might get unlucky and have noisy kids or something in first row of PEY right behind you... Alan |

Then, should CX selling F on HKG-SYD when 77H is operating?
The most important factor: While it's true CX101 has received subs the last few months, what's left unsaid is these swaps are not always 77H...sometimes the subs have been to 33E! CX101 seems to be subbing out 1-2x weekly. I didn't count 77H, but CX101 has swapped from 77G to 33E a total of 11x since July 1, so a little more than once a week. The common denominator between 77H and 33E (vs 77G): significantly fewer seats. Total seats: 33E: 251 77H: 275 77G: 340 So my bet is on bad loads on CX101, 77H and 33E sitting around unused, and then maybe a 77G or two go tech. At which point CX operations decides to swap out CX101 so they don't have to sacrifice the 77G elsewhere. |
What happens to those F seats? Elite J pax get them?

The few times I stalked EF, it appears that F was all taken (assigned, not blocked). If you randomly key in SYD/MEL flights, it does look that loads in EY aren't that great at the moment.

Whats the general consencus on the best Y seat? How is room at bulkhead compared to A330? I have the pick of any seat on a few (hopefully) A350 flights. Thanks guys

The broken seats are also documented... Quite common a thing apparently. |
5th A350 (B-LRD) delivered, inbound to HK
Currently airborne as CX3334 on flightaware, flightradar, etc.
Does anyone know if this has J class installed already in Toulouse? Or if HAECO has to make modifications once the plane arrives in Asia? If the former it should be in commercial service in the next few days. If the latter, it will likely take a few more weeks until doing passenger service. |

I will fly to LGW next week and assigned seat 21A for myself and 20A for my partner. I will post some comments on my experience later. I do know that 20A has one window instead of two, so 21A maybe better in terms of view.
Alan For J the absolute worst seats are in row 11. Forward lavatory is right in your face.

60 A (or K) is a very good seat due to the first row 59A missing. You get a window, dont need to disturb others when standing up and you can easily lean your head against the window side. Downside is that its right behind the lav which can make it annoying when people go. My personal preference otherwise is always to choose the second row of Y middle section, in this case 40 D (or G). Especially in this plane since on your sides, row 40 is the bulkhead while for the middle section 39 is bulkhead. |

This Cathay Pacific A350 Seat Map confirms it - 20K has only one window, 21K has two very well positioned ones. But it is right in front of the 30K basinette seat, which is often a 'screamer'. Not ideal for a long flight to Gatwick. |

Better to confirm by inflight cabin photos, also in my memory row20 IFE fitted on panel rather than retractable. e.g. In front cabin a pair of window is arranged per seat; 19A no block window with just one 150-200mm width panel behind ur store cabinet and etc.... |
