$2,000 per card per calender month, Visa Infinite, Priority Banking, Preferred Banking, Visa Platinum, Master Platinum and CUP only, i.e. no Worldmiles, executive platinum or titanium cards

Yes but calling HSBC is more efficient in this regard. They can tell you what your 6X allocations are and how much quota is left.

I never really used my HSBC advance card in the past, but the reward cash seems enticing. I really hate paying them $300 to transfer any RC I earn.

Has anyone ever figured out the breakeven point for paying that $300 to transfer RC to asia miles? How many RC should I have before I pay them the $300?

I don't think I've really ever calculated it because there's so many HSBC promos it will be insane not to earn RC.

And since 1RC = 15 miles or $1 coupon it's a no brainer to convert the RC to miles
With a $0.1 miles valuation all you need is 600RC for mileage programme to be worth it.

Premiermiles up to $2/mile overseas 1/7-30/9 targeted offer w threshhold

http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...w.php?id=15456
http://www.citibank.com.hk/english/c...ards/miles.htm

Ignore the local spend offer, it's just offering the BEA Flyer World normal earn rate but with a threshhold...

Overseas may be worth it

But, is that a good alternative to use SCB Platinum Master for Dining (HSBC 6X FULL) for $8000 every month during the promotion, before i switch to use DBS Eminent / BEA Flyer World?

$2.5/mile for $2,000 dining spend per monthquarter. Or double that if you achieve $8,000 spend in the same month as the dining.

I would suggest use <$2000 only for 6x.

12x doesn't justify unless:

1. you also participate in the online/watsons/wellcome/overseas 10% rebate promotion ($3000 cap for 10%, $8,000 spending required) <= this option is recommended, see below; or

2.you are using PB VI / CUP (spending between $2,000 and $8,000 amounts to a rebate marginally better than $5/miles - but you have to calculate carefully such that you don't exceed $8000 to much) - given the marginally better earn rate and the complication to keep at $8,000, I would not recommend this option.

Option 1 is recommeded, a total of $8,000 spending ($3,000 for any retail spending +$3,000 at online/overseas + $2,000 in dining) gets you 2,000AM + $300 rebate

The cap is per month, not per quarter

Need some advice here..
I知 currently holding a octopus credit card at Citibank (signed up a few years ago). I want to sign up for the Citibank prestige or the Citi Rewards card but I知 ineligible for the welcome gifts as I知 currently holding a credit card from Citibank. I can cancel the octopus cc and wait a year, but I壇 be missing out on the miles I earn from those 2 credit cards.

Do I cancel my current Citibank cc, put everything on the BEA Flyer World, wait a year and sign up for 2 new Citibank cards and grab the welcome gifts?

Or do I sign up for the 2 Citibank credit cards now?

It doesn't matter for Citi Prestige welcome offer if you're not a Citi new customer cos you get the same welcome offer for being an existing customer anyway.
But it does count for Citi Rewards.

I wouldn't churn.
Just apply for Rewards and Prestige now for the normal earn rates. Bear in mind you're only getting 15K AM for the $2,500 annual fee, and 20K AM per renewal thereafter (unless Citi changes the renewal gift again).
Citi welcome offers are getting worse and worse, there's no guarantee the 150K point offer will be here this time next year.
