How exactly does CX Waitlist work for awards?

Does anyone know if AM will allow me to ticket a waitlist in a different name?
Meaning- I have a waitlist that cleared but didn't ticket yet. I had originally waitlisted it for one person, now they can't come and want to ticket it for another. Obviously I will add them as a nominee.
Any idea if this is allowed?

But when I cancelled the waitlist, the seat immediately went back into inventory.

I found KA379 OKA to HKG on July 2/3 only available as Priority Award, while ITA matrix shows that L class tickets are still available.
Any idea on the chance for releasing to normal / ba inventory?

Was waiting for CX178 MEL-HKG tonight
Waitlisted since 8/7/15
One PE seat cleared in December or so but I needed another seat on CX178 any class
10 days before departure the seats were J9 (probably 12) W2. No redemption seats.
On 30/6 the seats were J4W2. No redemption seats.
Waitlists expired the next day.
Last night one PE redemption seat and one business redemption seat was made available. But I've already made alternate arrangements to leave Australia. EF shows J0W0 but CX.com shows two PE and no J seats on sale.

help to check current loads
Hi All
Would someone please be kind enough to check the loads for the following 2 flights?
CX233 HKG 01:00 MXP 07:35 (sat 10th Sep)
CX293 HKG 00:40 FCO 07:25 (sat 10th Sep)
I have been wait listed for PEY for a while now and there seems to be absolutely nothing available for both of these routes. Unfortunately i need to make this trip so will look for alternative solutions if the load factors do not look good! Thanks
On a separate note...has anyone tried to ticket 2 tickets on the same booking with different asiamiles numbers?
e.g i wait list 2 return flights under my account but only have enough miles for 1. Can i use the partners asia miles account to redeem the other ticket? (the names match)
Thanks!

I've been trying to waitlist for business class CX101 on 16 October 2016 but I keep getting an error message "There was a system error. Please try again later. If the problem persists please contact our eService Centre. (4002)"
I don't have the required 45,000 miles in my account (there are on transit from AMEX) but I believe I don't need to miles to sit in my account to waitlist, right?
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Nope
Are you using
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...ion-login.html
or
https://www.asiamiles.com/amwdsibere...NTRYCOUNTRY=HK ?
I'm using the latter

although i'm totally unfamiliar with redeeming to australia, and whether these #s are even relevant. from some regulars on here it seems like scoring advanced Australian awards is difficult. But perhaps closer in is better, I'm not sure what are the purchasing habits and quirks for Australian tickets.

For last 3 July CX178 the seats were J9 at T-10 days, no seat release, go down to J4 at T-4, still no redemption seats, and then one was released a day or two after that.
Although in M@rcoPolo's favour 16/10 is not a school or public holiday in HK/China/Australia.

Hi all,
Would really appreciate someone checking out the following flights I'm waiting on:
25 Sep CX320 MAD 1230 HKG 0715+1 (PEY waiting for J)
30 Jan KA691 HKG 1510 PEN 1855 (Y redemption)
05 Feb KA692 PEN 0800 HKG 1140 (Y redemption)
I recently made MP Silver and was very excited to receive my first elite package. Moving over from MH I must say CX/KA does try to do its best for their frequent fliers. I was a lowly GR about to get stuck in HKG when typhoon Nepartak was en route to Taiwan. A call and 15 minutes later everything was sorted out. I was back the following day before TPE shuts down and ready for work the following day.
