No priority line for YVR transborder security
Fast track sticker immediately dumps you in the regular line.
There is a separate NEXUS line though.
AC should work with the airport to improve this. Domestic is much better.

They should also work with YYC to improve the transborder security line. (i.e. everyone gets dumped into the same line).

Which I suppose means they don't have a crew security line either. Big fail. But doesn't excuse the rudeness or massive eg-centricness of the whole thing. Even the pilots don't do that.

And that Nexus line is absolute garbage too.
I've always maintained that US entry (security and control) at YVR sucks woolly mammoth dung.

Back in the day I did YYZ-YVR-SFO often, I remember always only one security lane open and after doing the luggage visual check, only one line for US CBP -- no kiosks, everyone had to talk to the officer .... always one officer handling transfers come to think of it ...

Is the airside US clearance process still asinine?

Come to think of it now, I can't tell if cow is talking airside or ground side, but both suck dried raccoon poop.

CBP is fine at YVR in my opinion, but security is only reasonable if you have a NEXUS card on you.

Having said that the Nexus lane is not always open first thing in the morning here or during the mid day doldrums. And there are shocking number of families with kids using the Nexus lane now. That's okay, but they take forever to actually clear the Immigration agents. Whine, whine, snivel, snivel.

Either that or it's a union shop and they only want to process a certain number of PAX per hour.

It gets better - most of the time at least two of those terminals are non-functional. There's about the same number of Nexus machines in YVR arrivals as well, with about the same reliability. I figure they could almost double the number of machines on both sides but that would require spending money.

My my wife just lifted the rope and went over there. We started a trend because everyone followed us.
Then there was the joy of the domestic transfer security area. Process 1 person every 2 minutes. They finally opened a second lane.
How much does one pay for the airport improvement fee in YVR? And more importantly, other than really big pieces of local art, what are they doing with it? Obviously it's not on the security screening.
