I thought I would update everyone on my problem at the YVR location. What a joke. First, I did take digital pics and forwarded a copy with letter explaining my problem to Cendant customer relations. I received a lovely form letter saying we do not handle claims, please call this #. Thanks guys.
I had already called the claims department at YVR. That went nowhere. I contested the charge with the regional Vancouver office. I received a claim #. Now get this. When I asked for a name and address to send a photo etc, I was told there was none. The phone claim was all that was available.
Well, this weekend I received a letter from the actual YVR location saying my claim was denied. They actually left it up to the guy I was disputing the charge with in the first place. And of course the letter was not signed, did not come from a person, merely "Budget Rent a Car Claims Department". No address. No name. Again, what a joke. In my opinion, this is the most dishonest rental car location I have every had the misfortune of dealing with in 20+ years of car rentals.
Budget lost a customer for life. The frustrating part is they don't care.

Then they have a very poor business plan. How do you have a franchise that reports to no one? It's your name on the building. I made the reservation thru their online reservation system, yet they have no say in any dispute.
I understand that they do not own it, but they also could not provide me a name or location to address my complaint. They simply tell you to talk to the same guy you had a problem with in the first place. How do you think that will turn out?
It's done and I'm gone. They hit my insurance carrier and made a quick buck. It's a lot less than they were making off me. I have moved all of our travel to Hertz.
Sorry for the rant. I should just let it go but I hate getting ripped off.
