I'm trying to find two CW seats for a colleague, who's currently booked into WTP, on the below flights. I've been checking availability frequently over the past month, but without success. I'd be very grateful if someone with the means could check the CW loads for me to gauge the (remote?) possibility of upgrades appearing later on:

BA0283 LHR to LAX on Tue 04 Dec 2012

BA0268 LAX to LHR on Wed 19 Dec 2012

I'm guessing the return flight will likely be busy with Christmas travellers, but it's worth a punt. Thanks. ^

Perhaps because the availability of award seats may be linked more to projections of what the load will look like by the day of the flight, and less to what the load looks like today?

Suppose the airline has 300 seats for sale on 1 June 2013, and it knows from history that even if it makes no award seats available it will sell 10 seats between 10 June 2012 and 15 May 2013, and 290 seats between 16 May 2013 and 1 June 2013. And suppose that by 1 November 2012, it's already sold 15 seats. Why should it make any award seats available, even though there are still 285 seats left to sell?

That's an extremely oversimplified example, but I hope it illustrates the point.

I understand all of that - I should have explained, they did, a couple of days after my parents making this booking (for it is they I'm trying to sort out here), have availability on every day around this one but not that specific day.

Anyway, it's their own fault - I told them not to book a specific day without checking availability first, and did they listen? Of course not...

I feel your pain. My sympathy.

A fellow lawyer once said: Never give free legal advice. People never pay attention to free legal advice. But if you charge them through the nose for it, they will pay attention to every word.

The sad thing is that clients really do work like that!

I don't have access to the subscription services but you might find your answer in Flightstats

http://www.flightstats.co.uk/FlightA...vailability.do

I don't know how reliable the info is though!

That's exactly what KVS scrapes. In fact it should probably be in one of those wiki things on this thread really.
