Can't wait! Eating moose with a side of Poutine, kissing a Cod, and drinking copious amount of Screech, while saying "life is good, eh?"

Had a quick look at the LON-JFK PE sales fares (£750), but when I use the cash + upgrade with Avios option for the same flights it comes in at £1200 + 48k avios. I noticed the selling class is T for the sale fares and from memory I don't think these are upgradable?

Totally upgradable, there is a long-running bug that overcharges customers going for the one-step upgrade approach that strangely doesn't get fixed. Either wait for the class-action, or go for the cheaper fare then call and upgrade

This is more likely because the PE fare you are being quoted initially is a Dual Inventory fare whereas the fare quoted as part of the upgrade using Avios option will be a true PE / WT+ fare which isn't dependent on the matching WT class being available.

You should be able to book online at the lower cost and then upgrade that booking using Avios with the system then just charging you the additional taxes etc.

In sale: lowest fare OSPCV2R at £45.00 ("TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/AFTER 12JAN18 AND ON/BEFORE 14JAN18.")

Not a huge saving, but it's there.

Thanks.

I checked the lowest fare page at ba.com, as recommended by a well-known blogger/publisher. Normally good, but not this time.
