You'll have no problems using the F lounge (the only time you'll get denied from the BA lounges using your EXP card as entry is when travelling one what AA call 'domestic' flights) although for the sake of completeness it is closed in the mornings, even when BA's daytime IAD-LHR flight operates over the summer. The Terraces opens at 3.30pm, I presume the F lounge is the same time.
The F lounge is quite small, seating for maybe sixteen at a squeeze. There is a small bar area with mini bottles of Veuve Clicquot and little items to snack on like chips/crisps (US/UK) etc. I've been told they have a resident rat although I've used the lounge maybe half a dozen times now and haven't seen it! Maybe the Burger King further down Concourse D found it
