Here's the menu on BA288 PHX to LHR

Seared tuna was very salty and tough, but the soup was warm and nice

Lamb loin was not the best but i liked the potato gratin

Full breakfast was alright tho the scrambled eggs was a bit rubbery

I was quite surprised an afternoon tea was offered on such a long flight (10h+ advertised). We were offered a light meal as a second meal on our cancun flight in September, which was also 9h+

I have just flown LHR-DXB / DXB - LHR and found the club world dining service extremely slow, especially on the night flight out not recieving our meals until 2.5hours after take off. The veggies were massively overcooked too! I think it was more a staffing issue as the flight attendants seemed very busy and it seem's the reintroduction of this service hasn't been very well considered.

Thanksgiving Turkey replaced the cod:

Pumpkin pie replaced the crumble on US routes for thanksgiving.

Afternoon tea

Sweet potato starter. Very bland. LHR - DFW 24/11/22

Chocolate sponge sauce dessert. Pretty good but hard to get wrong. It was warm

Crew brought me up a mushroom pasta dish from First as I wasnt interested in any of the main options in J. Was incredibly rich, as is usual in F.

Just tried the new J menu for the first time after several f trips:

- I agree sweet potato salad was bland and quinoa was boring. Too little corn
- the little bulgur salad comes automatically (instead of the pre Covid side salad)
- agree cod was dry at first. The orbitmic tip: add a hint of butter on the fish it will rehydrate it
- no problem getting both cheese and chocolate pudding
- no slowness at all in the service in my case, crew was lovely, fast and efficient

sexond meal:

- pumpkin salad was nicer than first sweet potato salad but felt quite repetitive: more bulgur more labneh
- artichoke pasta good
- crme caramel mediocre

in between enjoyed the expanded club kitchen nice pots (tried the mutabal) various sandwiches, apple cake and nice fruit

in short none of it is spectacular but it is much better than before in both quantity and quality

If you're airside you can have a decent enough meal at La Mansion and airside the AA admirals club has some reasonably ok tapas etc these days. I'd choose that over onboard food from Mex. Last 3 cw flights Mex to Lhr I've passed on dinner and gone to bed as it's generally crap. Even the breakfast is pants ex Mex

I'm not sure crew should really be doing this. Whilst a nice gesture, it could compromise availability if an F passenger chooses a second meal later in the flight (given dine on demand).
