Why it is different, I don't know. Other than it was sourced a bit later as G-GATO was rejected. It is also the only one with EIS2, so has flat screens rather than CRT screens, meaning you can actually see them when it is sunny.

G-GATU https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9172156

G-EUOC https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9500671

G-GATU certainly used to have a MTOW of 73.5T verses 77T for the other G-GAT aircraft but also had a slightly higher max zero fuel weight of 62.5T rather than 61T for the rest. It was therefore ideally suited to ALG in that it could take more bags but as it isn't a long way away, didnt need to be able to take as much gas. I presume it is just a hangover from being at Kingfisher but I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you very much for the info. Like many others I suspect, I didn’t realise that there were differences within the class.
Again, thanks.

G-XLEH due back to Madrid today sadly. Must have been a quick Maintenance visit. At this point I think we’ll only see more A380’s return toward the end of May to service as 1st June (from memory) is the next big step up in A380 service.

Iberia Express EC-LLE positioned back to Madrid early this morning. BAEuroflyer now have 7 G-GAT Airbus at Gatwick plus two Iberia Express Aircraft.
I'm off on G-GATK to Paphos tomorrow at 0640!

G-XLEE came from MAD to LHR yesterday, so perhaps for the same.

That is interesting given G-XLEE just came back from Manila, whereas XLEH has made LHR visits from Madrid on average every 4 months (Aug’21 / Dec’21 and Apr’22), so would be good to get some additional insight into XLEE’s visit.

A few minor updates:

G-XLEE will re-enter commercial service today operating the BA107 to DXB. This means 7 A380's (out of of a fleet of 12) are active at LHR again
G-YMMU re-enters service today as well operating to JNB after over a month of maintenance
G-YMMS returns to LHR this morning after completing its duties at LGW (ETA at LHR around 11.20am)

No further sign of the last 2 G-GATx aircraft returning from Madrid just yet, but I am expecting G-EUYH to return to service from GLA storage in the next few days.

No idea I’m afraid - hasn’t had any transponder signal since April 3rd / so not sure when it will be reactivated!

Is there any sign of the A321ceos moving from Madrid? Have these even moved at all in the last 2 years? Some of the exBD aircraft seemed a bit dodgy (fume events) pre covid so goodness knows how reliable they’ll be when they’re finally woken up again!
