G-MIDO has positioned from LHR to LGW today.

G-GATN hasn’t flown since I flew back to Gatwick from Paphos on it last Thursday. We had a technical delay of nearly two hours before departure owing to a malfunctioning auxiliary power unit. A local airbus engineer communicating with BA technical centre in London carried out a repair to get us back to Gatwick. Does anyone know if further work has been necessary.? It has now been on the ground for 4 days.

True, but they have already been reconfigured recently into a now-redundant LGW 4 class configuration. Truth be told I am not sure what BA will do with these 3 frames. It is probably too expensive to add club suites at this stage. I suspect these 3 will be the 1st 777-200ERs to leave the BA fleet when the time comes and BA will keep them at either LGW or LHR in a odd-ball layout until then.

I’d expect them to fly premium-heavy destinations with little to no competition in the mean-time (think BGI, BDA, Nigeria, Saudi style places etc).

I do wonder if it will be that expensive and time consuming to do for those 3 frames. They already have the newer W and Y seats and the newer IFE system in them and its really just the CW and some of the F cabin to rip out and replace with Club Suites. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but I'd imagine it wouldn't take as long.

Wiki updated with all current mainline aircraft locations noted.
Nothing of major note, a few aircraft in 'storage / maintenance' and a lot of the G-MID fleet have recently located to LGW from LHR.

G-XWBL is due to serve the BA191 (Austin) route tomorrow on it's first revenue flight, so I've moved it to active status in the Wiki.
G-EUYH is finally scheduled to return to service from May 7th, so I would expect it to return to LHR either today or tomorrow.

The rumour from Waterside at the minute is the A321s are not coming back. I wonder if this is why a few A319s that were originally planned to have gone by now are still around?

I'm assuming these are Gatwick based 772s and are not, at present/if at all, getting the CS suite refurb. Others may have further info/correction.

Are some of the A321s still in the, now redundant, mid-haul configuration? If so, refurbishment costs would need to be factored into any return to service equation. Versus the A319s, presumably the demand is just not there.

Are they owned or leased? Some could be sold for freighter conversion if owned.
