Thank you both. I knew I wouldn't have to wait long for enlightenment.

I didn't have a problem understanding why BA wouldn't offer F, but hadn't realised that the RR engine problems are still an issue. I know that it's been quite big news at various points, but the details never quite made my radar.

I was further confused by the fact that rewardflightfinder.com is returning (phantom) BA F award availability to SEL in late October and November 2020. That made me wonder if F might be in the pipeline for this route.

More background on the Trent 1000 saga:

Cancellation of 787 services - Q4 2017 / Q1 2018 - Rolls Royce engine issue
789 disruption
787 issues all fixed?

Sneaking into W20/21 but BA A380 scheduled LHR/LAS for a few dates to coincided with tech expo CES JAN 21. Will be nice to see it at LAS. Im guessing might be a good atmosphere on those services.

I have also found AA.com showing BA reward availability in F on the BKK route. Not sure exactly what's causing it but must be an error of some sort.

I wish the A380 appeared more often, or at least a newer aircraft than the 747s which are usually seen on the route (especially as VS now fly from LHR on a 787).

Do you all think updates are over for summer 2020. I have a feeling we may still see some changes to LGW SH. What do you think?

Some small frequency increases for the spring.

Looks like the usual Avios availability there for Seattle too. But also some First availability (at least on SeatSpy).

https://mediacentre.britishairways.c...12110?ref=News

Cape Town will increase by three services a week From March 30 until April 19

Seattle will increase by a daily service from May 1 until May 31

Miami will increase by a daily service from April 1 until May 31

That new MIA-LHR is quite horrid! 15:10-04:50...

LHR-MIA departs at 18:40... looks like it's the HKG slot (that HKG rotation resumes on 1 June).

Seattle is a new BA46/47.

Tues, Weds, Fri, Sun it leaves London at 1335. The other days at 1630. Return times are 2205 and 2315, giving afternoon arrivals back in London.

Looks like they are using a 4 class 777.

Thanks for the alert about this. The new flights aren't (yet) fully on sale - F, J, W, Y and B only at the moment, on a quick skim through some random dates. So it looks like BA may still be hedging its bets for HKG. I will try to remember to update the HKG thread tomorrow.

I haven't traced it through, but I suspect the new SEA uses PKX and/or PVG slots.

It must vary by day because the LHR-MIA I booked yesterday when they released Avios availability is at 16.30 (a Thurs) - and that's the last MIA flight of the day.

It looks like April is being run on one basis and May on another. Maybe MIA is using PKX and/or PVG slots in April, and HKG slots in May.

From the Wiki:

Seoul Incheon from 01SEP20: 787-9 replaces -8, First Class cabin not available for sale
It's a bit more nuanced than that. The schedule currently has it regularly flipping between 787-9 and 787-8 from September 4.
