Dear

We're looking forward to welcoming you on board your flight with us from London Heathrow to Glasgow on 25 August.

We wanted to let you know that we'll be making a change to the aircraft operating your flight. Your flight will no longer be operated by a Boeing 747.

We understand that, after speculation on aviation websites, some of our customers booked on BA1482 hoping to be part of our birthday celebration. We’ll happily offer a full refund to anyone who no longer wishes to travel.

You'll be able to view the timing changes to your flight at ba.com/mmb in the next 24 hours.

If you would like to make a change to your booking, please contact us.

If you booked through a travel agent, please contact them to make any changes.
On Sunday 25 Aug - the day of BAs 100th birthday - BA are operating these domestic rotations with 747s, reportedly the three heritage-liveried aircraft :

I don't see why we can't buy a same day return on the BA website.
I am across the Channel French side which means I'll have to add transport to LHR and back.
The BA call center for France is closed Saturdays and Sundays. I would have to wait until Monday morning to call them. All the cheap seats might be gone by then.
The UK call number comes with a surcharge.
Telephone: 0844 493 0787 option 2
Calls cost 7p per minute plus your phone company's access charge

EDI can certainly handle a 744. Maybe BA plans to send G- EUPJ up to Turnhouse on 25 August.

There is a 2 hour limit imposed by the website, anything within that is rejected.

Try +44 191 4907901 - should be same rate as local calls from a mobile. (someone may have more up to date info on the international number to use, that's from a 2016 website)

Have you tried 0344 493 0787 or +44 191 490 7901? I don't know if they'll work - 03 numbers aren't premium within the UK, though.

Wish I could join the party!

Minor detail that I'm making an educated guess at; the IFE will likely be turned off, or at least used for safety video/moving map only, as AFAIK BA don't have the rights to the IFE content on domestics.

Someone could press the wrong IFE button on the day though…

Booked from NCL to LHR in ..... GASP (Y) !!! Couldn’t bring myself to pay £900 for 2 of us to fly in J for a 40 minute flight

Auto allocated seats is a pain - will there be an opportunity for Gold members to select different seats ? I hope they have lots of crew for BOB !!!!!!

I got myself a seat on the 1500 from GLA to LHR then onwards back home to Belfast.

Expertflyer seat alerts at the ready, just incase the upper deck block is lifted. Interestingly, 4 UD seats looking booked as well as 1A presumably those folks got in before the block on seats was implemented.

What’s the situation on the ground - are BA likely to host some kind of event in the outstation lounges at NCL / GLA / MAN or will it just be business as usual ??

Damn, looks like I've been too slow. Looking at LHR-NCL and return on the 747 and it's £213 economy... and the flight doesn't show up at all on Avios redemptions. Is that normal if all CE/WT has gone already, or has it not been released for Avios availability at all?

Yay - I've got seats on LHR NCL LHR - they were the most 'reasonably' priced ...

Looking forward to testing lounge capacity

From what I was told on my BAEC call, golds *will* get priority *when* the blocked seats are released. I can't do an Expert Flyer seat alert on a blocked seat though, so will have to keep checking...
