Dear

We're looking forward to welcoming you on board your flight with us from London Heathrow to Glasgow on 25 August.

We wanted to let you know that we'll be making a change to the aircraft operating your flight. Your flight will no longer be operated by a Boeing 747.

We understand that, after speculation on aviation websites, some of our customers booked on BA1482 hoping to be part of our birthday celebration. We’ll happily offer a full refund to anyone who no longer wishes to travel.

You'll be able to view the timing changes to your flight at ba.com/mmb in the next 24 hours.

If you would like to make a change to your booking, please contact us.

If you booked through a travel agent, please contact them to make any changes.

Awayday fares are available on these flights in G bucket, so you can fly NCL-LHR and back the same day for £85 return on a Basic fare.

[And yes, I'm already booked]

Further edit: I have already been moved to 30K so that means it's a Mid J. I'm ok with that seat, however I can't change it online, but it was showing the WTP seating area in MMB.

25 August 2019? No, can't possibly think why.

I notice that there are quite a number of Flubbers already.

What a pity that NQY isn't on the list ...

I've seen a comment on Facebook suggesting it's to do with the 100yr thing - so they'll be the two 747 retro liveries?

you couldn't do those three rotations with only 2 747s so i imagine all three retro livery 747s will be involved

Er, yes - it is the very day of the 100th anniversary.

There are three domestic rotations, and BABenchley posted in this thread - so I imagine the plan is for each of the three 747s in retro liveries to do one.

Booked onto the same flight, I feel honoured!
Likewise been dumped into 40H with no option to change, I've set an EF alert though.

Ex-LHR :
0920 to NCL
1010 to MAN
1200 to GLA

So for maximum 747 mileage, and a longer champagne brunch in the lounge while you watch the other 2 go, the best one is GLA.

Is there any tricks to lowering the price? They seem to have shot up now.

Could you be more specific? I'm seeing an awayday to GLA for £86.31 for the return flights coming back GLA-LHR on an A321. Because BA on my recent search lapsed into the legacy booking front-end there are probably some price glitches due to demand creeping in.

Yeah I have a feeling it's not going to be an immediate turn-around for those... I was hoping to do that, but ba.com won't let me
