BA16 SYD-LHR 2 Dec, delayed overnight

I guess a combination of onto BA12, rerouting onto other services and delaying passengers until the following day. At least there are a lot of options from SIN.

In this scenario would BA rebook on, say, Singapore, or keep everyone on oneworld (at a guess via KUL/DOH) If they could get the space, ticketing sorted and close flight times they might have been able to avoid EU-261 liability?
