Ignoring the rights and wrong of selling the Silver card, I can absolutely see the value to a purchaser. Not everyone has the time and patience to earn it. I’ve gifted a few of my Silver partner cards to colleagues who only get to fly ET... and they fly quite a bit but not enough to earn the card due to the low TPs they earn. They really appreciate the lounge access and seat selection that the gifted card avails them.

if you knew what went on in the real world, you guys would be shocked. I spent half an hour with the UKs most successful mileage broker recently. The sums fetched for Gold and Silver referrals in the real world are astronomic - more than a small car for a Gold. London is not short of HNWs.

If BA would like to have someone (if they don't already) spot these thefts/sales then I'm currently between jobs* and would be delighted to accept the position.
*My choice.

Blankets and pillows, I guess, aren't too bad, but the guy is selling noise cancelling headphones... They probably cost the airline quite a bit to replace.

Never even heard of a mileage broker until your post - google has been quite enlightening, had no idea that sort of thing went on

There's quite a trade in status short cuts on ebay - there are some hhonors offers derived from status matches for example, and some tricks to get status on star alliance. Can't say I'm tempted, but it takes all sorts. I think if this is GGL status derived it's a risky business.

I do think that selling Bose headphones, pillows, blankets is dishonest and I'd say it was a little more than cringeworthy. Though having said that, in the pre 9-11 days I did borrow the odd airline teaspoon, and I could quite easily get interested in that sort of memorabilia again. I'm definitely regretting not keeping my dad's Concorde ephemera though

Try taking them off an AA flight and you'd fail. They are obsessive - and can be very assertive - about collecting them back in (which they do far too early leaving you with an awful pair of cheap ear bud types which is hardly premium)

Whilst staff may have a quicker route in to this anyone can send BA an email about this sort of stuff. Whether they do anything about it is then down to them.

When my kids were younger they used to sell the giveaway items like pj's and hotel slippers. Of course they nicked all my posting and packing stuff and stamps etc, and kept the money. Thankfully they have grown out of that phase, but it kept them busy on a wet Sunday.

This guy seems to have it on an industrial scale.

Aren't noise cancelling headphones in the over £100 category at least? While not explicitly stating you shouldn't take them onboard, would be it legally possible to do the passenger for theft.

Frankly they could be dodgy, hang back in the cabin and switch someone elses to their seat so its not even trackable...

Tell me about it. I lost my personal pair of QC15s on a JFK-DUB by handing them in by accident, they were insistent that I returned them and I was too jet lagged to argue. Only realised when I got home and retrieved the empty case from my bag.

Or email Mr Plod if someone has reason to believe stolen goods are being offered for sale on eBay or anywhere else for that matter.

Don't these need a specialist connection anyway, They don't power via a battery like noise cancelling ones you buy, but by that other pin, or am I misunderstanding?

Do you think that would achieve anything other than more recorded crime statistics?

Another money-making activity by a certain A.C. perhaps?

Come on then FTers... who bought the silver card (no longer available)? Or perhaps there is a thief among the ranks.
