Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...
For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times
Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.
If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.
Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here
Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.
Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).
Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

exGERMANY Sale Fare BA IKX6T1S2 to US in Business
Some information below on this sale fare from Germany to the US - it seems to be to NYC and Chicago only. Some example prices are noted below. Routing with two connections in the US is possible so example TP earning can be:
DUS-LHR-JFK-BOS-ORD rtn = (40+140+40+40)x2 = 520 TP
It may be possible to route via HEL (e.g. TXL-HEL-LHR) but I haven't checked that possibility yet.
The fare has a ticket by date of:
TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 08 FEB 18.
Example prices (exDUS and all via LHR):
NYC - £1,094
ORD - £1,093
it seems this is just for NYC and ORD? I can't find it for other US cities?
Some other starting points in Germany may be cheaper.

I’m in an interesting conundrum with my BA status this year. I’ve made Silver and have been toying with the idea of doing a status run to go for Gold as OWE has always been a bucket-list thing for me. The conundrum is that I work as a contractor and I am paid a generous day rate for each day I work. I could take a few days off to do a status run but for each day I don’t work, the status run gets significantly more expensive. I would happily do an ex-EU QR J run to BKK (say from HEL) with a same day turn around at BKK but all of their cheapest fares seem to require at least a 2 night stay there meaning I would have to take the Friday and the Monday off (and maybe a Tuesday as well). If I could do a run with 0 or just 1 day off work it would be very cost effective, if I need to take several days off it becomes very expensive due to lost income.
Anyone in a similar situation?

For the trips out east, one good one is Munich to Peking on Sri Lankan (first flight is Qatar). It gets 3 LH segments per direction and you can return essentially the next day (just after midnight so it looks like two nights on the itinerary, but it's really just one). As I recall it looks theoretically as if it would work B2B but I wouldn't risk that. If you don't have a China visa I think there are options for Hong Kong or Jakarta.
Then again you could view it as holiday and take some holiday. I have a couple of those booked - it was my wife's idea, so however bizarre it seems to sit and relax for a few days not on a flight I'm going along with it.

I'm quite time poor and have had to put a lot of planning into working around weekends, Inevitably you have to take some time off, but to get from silver to gold probably not all that much. You might want to look at the August bank holiday weekend and join the PHX do, which I think you can do Friday to Monday and in business (the F fares have gone).

The very advanced version is the cross-border B2B between HKG and CAN - arrive into HKG on UL892 at 1710, KA786 HKG-CAN at 2015 and UL885 back to CMB at 0315. This wouldn't require a visa, since you are transiting within 24 hours without departing CAN airport.
As far as B2B in CGK, as Teledude and Madfish have reported, just don't

Headed down to India and SEA in April, and would love to hear more about this - I've been struggling to find good TP runs on MH, which is airline that I am keen to try out.
Would you have suggestions?

KUL to TPE is usually pretty inexpensive, and I think Delhi is a cheap run too, some of the indian destinations. For preference starting from Penang. On Borneo island there are some interesting looking short runs from Kuching to Miri, Kota Kinabalu etc which I think could be B2B in a day fairly easily, but watch out you don't end up on Maswings which give no TPs.

I’m seeing a few flights in PE from PRG-LHR-JFK for under £700. I haven’t played around with it too much but it seems an interesting price. (Economy is about £360 but I imagine there aren’t many TPs in it).

Hi All
Great thread. My first attempt at a Tier point run. Have just dropped from Gold to Silver on BAEC and now realize the difference especially on fast track and first lounge in LHR. I need to do a trip to CapeTown and Joburg from the 8th to 14th of March from my base in Dublin. I have flexibility +/- a day on the dates. Will fly business and have budget about $3k to spend. Any of the more experienced posters able to help with getting me to 800 tier points on this trip? Don't mind which one-world partner i fly with. Thanks for your help.

Is there that much of a difference between the Galleries Club and Galleries First lounges at LHR. Only ever had Silver as the business trips I often do rack up enough for Silver, but not Gold - hence why I am doing a OTP-PHX TP run as part of my holiday to get Gold this year

These 3-leg QR/UL itineraries are very easy to B2B in HKG (and CAN, but that probably requires a visa), UL 896 arrives in HKG at 2200, and UL 897 departs 0200 the same night (early the next morning), so plenty of time to unwind in the lounges at HKG.

Any example itineraries available for these 3 leg UL/QR runs? Or the MUC - PEK run mentioned above.
I have multi entry Chinese visa so B2Bs on the mainland shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Most routes are 640 TPs, but you can max out at 840 TPs at destinations over 2000 miles from CMB.
Those are HKG / CAN / CGK / PVG / PEK / NRT also MEL, however that is a much higher fare.
Another good starting point for these runs is DME, which earns the same TPs; however, on most routes you’ll spend 300-400 EUR less than from MUC, and is easy to position with RFS. Visa may be needed if you want to leave the airport and explore Moscow.
