I suspect if T5 BA FLounge or CCR were brand new and had about 10% the traffic that they do, it could maintain a similarly sleek appearance. (But the buffets in Flounge would need to improve.)

As for newspapers, for instance, the CCR does not have a single newspaper in German, French, Spanish, or Italian. Of course, if you are knowledgeable and can be bothered, you could leave the CCR and get those in GF but not in the CCR, and your typical F flyer won't know anyway.

I've never looked at the magazines to be honest and only read a paper once.
Runner's World in the QF MEL F lounge was the only time I've ever picked up a magazine in any lounge.
The table with the mags in the CCR is just wasted space to me.

My point is, that different people consider different elements to be important.
There is no 'correct' answer.

I must admit that I strongly disagree with your wife on that as I precisely find the CCR magazine and newspapers selection poor. My pet problem is that the Conde Nast is now almost never to be found (it used to be there all the time) and I really couldn't care less about most of the magazines that they are getting (all for free - and for a reason I would say). I think that the CX selection is much better for instance.

When travelling F to Vancouver recently I was with my wife and kids. They greatly preferred the BA Flounge in T3 as there was more space to move around in and also the buffet is very handy.
I made sure, however, we made time for a quick glass in CX Flounge. If I am travelling alone - there is no contest. But context is key.

^ That's the whole point of travel; looking forward to the trip! Enjoy the CCR is a very nice place to spend time before a flight.

Is it just me or do the CCR sofas look like that time when BA tried to paint all sorts of fancy colours on the tail of their aircraft instead of the flag? I seem to recall Maggie putting a handkerchief over them at the launch and wonder if that will be required at my next visit.
I understand it is just a a chair but I have several chairs and sofas in my house, none of which look like those and can only imagine my wife's face if I had brought one of these specimens home!

I’m pretty sure many of the forum members who don’t frequent the CCR would love to know what compelling ‘can’t get in any other top F lounge’ magazines are available here. Any insights ?
