Would the lounge dragons have some spare ties to lend gentlemen that fell below the required sartorial standard?

And Qatar Red colour being banned as well?

I think dress codes are very outdated. Even for office environments.
Unless you are in customer business meetings day in day out working on expensive deals making someone in the internal IT department wear a shirt and tie day in day out is just pointless.

Does HIDDY's kilt count?

No. A kilt is not a dress.

Given that BA cannot organise boarding, cannot get the right food on board, and cannot tell the truth in some of their CS interactions, I doubt their ability to organise and implement a dress code.

No, thank you.
As long as it's clean, people can wear what they prefer*.

*(maybe not just the underwear )

I've worn some rather dubious specimens provided by the cloakroom attendant at The Ritz in the past, thank goodness that's over.

and so as not to stray too far off piste ..... No.

As much as others' sartorial disasters/dismal failings may cause me inner amusement/revulsion, a dress code is not the answer.

BA do have a dress code for staff and a rather ridiculous one at that. It was only a few years ago that you could not fly club world wearing jeans.

Before I stopped flying BA, I did rather delight in wearing my fluorescent lime green havianas in the premium cabins.

Jacket and tie for gentlemen; equivalent for ladies, surely? Evening wear on all flights departing after 6pm: black tie in Traveller; white tie in Club and above.

I'm not following - how do you seriously enforce a dress code on a long-haul flight when there are passengers wandering around in pajamas provided by the airline?

I think there should be rules against those who choose to e.g. walk around without shoes on in the lounges, however...
