I welcome all BA posters, most fall by the wayside once their job has been done or if they cannot stand the heat.

ORD flights?

What's going on at ORD that they can cancel this flight day after day? I'm flying on it later this month and I'm worried.

I'm guessing that with 6 flights a day between LHR>ORD>LHR, 4 of which are operated by AA, they are finding it quite an easy route to distribute 1 B744's worth of pax across the other 5 flights. The other route which was being hit hard with cancellations, PHL, seems to have faired better over the past week at least.

Thank you. Is there any end in sight to this madness?

The 296/297 was cancelled on Sunday August 6th. Called and rebooked on the AA46 (BA1518) an hour earlier. Lots of availability.

Anyone flown AA's 787 down the back got a seat recommendation?

So, the BA232 DME-LHR operating on a 777 was crewed by WW Cabin Crew. Service was fine for the short flight. Didn't hear any announcements of reduced staff onboard affecting service. Had a chat with one of the crew who said he (and most of the onboard crew) were glad they didn't have to do this route often.

This is borderline worth a thread on its own, perhaps.

I've been told that all BA123 (LHR-DOH) and BA122 (DOH-LHR) will be cancelled until 15 August, and 16 August for the return leg.

Rebooking will be allowed on to Qatar, it is noted that WTP will be due a refund as a result of being downgraded to economy. Travel can be 3 days before to 3 days after original date of rebooking, or a full refund. EC261 compensation will apply except perhaps for those at the later end of this time period, depending when they get to be officially informed and the precise details of their trip.

For those on multi sector journeys, they can be rebooked on to more direct services. So EDI-LHR-DOH-BKK can become EDI-LHR-BKK or EDI-DOH-BKK.

One involuntary change allowed, so think before you call!

A bit shambolic, if I'm being frank - got text saying late flight today ord->lhr cancelled. Then another saying it wasn't. Then a third saying it was cancelled after all. We had a 450 mile drive from Copper Harbor to ORD, could really have done without losing 3 hours of the day! At least we were booked into the same seats in row 5 and didn't get rerouted via AA or something.

I was booked on the lgw-jfk flight on 4 August. I was informed today the flight has been cancelled. I was rebooked on the BA113 lhr-jfk, departing 30 min earlier. Was this strike related?

It's been cancelled 29th July - 8th Aug - Expertflyer has the reason as INDU so yes seems that way - presumably using the crew to cover LHR services instead.

Though looking at TheBASource seems that there has been some shuffling of the 777 fleet between Gatwick and Heathrow recently, so I do wonder if they are a little short and this clears up a little operational headache for them at the same time...

Can't see this flight lasting to be honest - looking at future bookings seems to be an absolute dog of a performer up front!
