That will explain the BA staff I saw positioned at the T4 entrance bridges this afternoon - they were holding Pads with BA197 displayed.

We are now very thankful that BA cancelled our Houston flight for today due to strikes and we were able to reroute from Phoenix. We were due to drive from Dallas to Houston today to catch the flight - it's unlikely that we would have been able to do that!

We managed to change our original re-route with AA via DFW to Friday's 196, having seen a warning re: the weather from AA. So very glad to have made it out before Harvey arrived, though obviously concerned for friends in Houston.

When I rang BA they hadn't received the warning, but having checked, the flight was then changed with no issue. Much relief from Mrs Dark Lord as we left the ground. Typical understatement from the Flight Deck about 'some local wind' though seat belt signs left on for a good half hour until we'd left Texas.

As far as I can see both IAH are recorded as weather cancellations. The airport isn't likely to open for days.

I checked on EF and 195 was noted as INDU (I think that cancellation was loaded a while ago and one of the planned strike cancellations), and 197 is noted as weather. I agree though that regardless of strike cancellations neither would be running today or for quite a while until IAH is brought back to normal.

No update today since the last strike has finished. I hope that is the end and BA and MF come to resolution so no further strikes are needed.

Agreed.

Fingers crossed that a LHR-MIA-LHR in F next week goes with normal service levels.
