From a crewing perspective, cancelling long haul might make crew available to pick up another long haul instead. So guess a cancelled MAD roundtrip doesn't give them much manpower back.

Don't forget this service, when operated by the 777, can be crewed with Worldwide fleet crew . In fact , this happened a few days ago. I can't verify this as fact, but I heard that as these crew haven't been trained on BoB, product was given away for free on that day..

Also a possibility. Heard some DME flights were operated by Worldwide.

On a DME-LHR tomorrow (Monday) on a 777. Will see who is crewing it then (as long as it doesn't get cancelled).

Out of curiosity, and I realize slightly OT, what are all the different employee groups called? I know WW - World Wide, and MF - Mixed Fleet. What are the others? Is it a total of 5?

Thank you

I believe it's the Inflight Customer Support Programme.

That's not what the letters stand for in the cabin crew community but I will let you all work out what it could be, clue it's less than complimentary and involves shopping?

Yes, indeed, so non flight crew - often Waterside staff in head office roles - who have been trained to operate as cabin crew. They are volunteers who every few months take to the air to keep their card valid.

Welcome aboard Welcome Aboard, and I hope you will find the BA board and Flyertalk interesting. If you are a BA staff member then your comments are likely to be highly valued here, so if you can cope with the occasional swipe from CIHY then it would be good to see more of you.
