Thanks, should have been clearer - would only book Y if J not available (looking for 4 seats which don't always come up domestically)

Noticed that to Edinburgh when booking mine. Other Scottish airports seemed to have more than the minimum at T-355

Are domestic connections on 241 bookings no longer 'free'?

I am looking to book MAN/LAX via LHR next year, in Club, dates are off peak - expecting to pay 125,000 but they want 140500.

Have I missed something?

Not good news at all. Luckily for me this was my last planned redemption and I have a few thousand membership rewards which will bring me up to the avios I need.
Pit might be worth starting a new post with the twitter response, as this is a major change of policy.

There has been no announcement for this. Usually BA have announced these changes prior to taking effect so I am slightly sceptical this has changed. I would go back and challenge them to show when and where this was announced - I couldn't find your tweet otherwise I would have done it too.

Thanks for this Karfa very interesting. Does that mean it’s cost effective to fly these ex INV and same some taxes?

departing from INV/JER would always save you the APD (~£160 per person in W/J/F) so can work out to be cost effective for a 2-4-1. It really depends on positioning costs, extra time needed, etc. as to whether it would be worthwhile in any individual situation.

The changes from April '15 and a web archive from the short haul feeder change not applying to long haul is located in this thread.
Still "free" domestic connections to long-haul Avios redemption flights?

A Head for Points post reply states " Just called CS. Technical errors., they are working on it. They are happy to take the booking over the phone fee-free for the correct avios. "

Really hope this isn’t a change.

For those of us based in the regions, the changes to short haul redemptions a few years back were already painful enough - even with RFS, and valuing Avios at 1p each, you’re talking a bare minimum of £160 Avios plus £70 fees RFS per person to go XXX-LHR-YYY off peak. At that price it’s often considerably more cost effective to go via AMS or CDG with KLM/AF, which is regularly a little cheaper than BA’s cheapest flights.

If this was being added to LH flights too, it would be a very definite negative enhancement!
