Passport and visa check can be done by any BA agent with a FLY console, so that is well provided for in that channel. Not for the USA, but mobile staff with tablets can also do the visa check for some of the common ones. I suspect some specialist visas (e.g. the Arabic language ones) will require a G4S specialist to attend occasionally, as is the case now.

I was thinking that too.
No worse than some I've seen & better that than Trumpified in gold etc. Had I had any input I would have done them so that together they looked like they made up the speedmarque.

So that means an Extra Long Journey for International Connections arriving North Security who could previously avoid the Shopping Mall by Turning Right after North/Connections Security and a short walk along the Security Area Balcony to The White Door.
So 50% of Concorde Room Guests save a 40 foot walk to The White Door. Meanwhile the remaining 50% Now go from a 400 Foot walk, to a Half Mile Plus Journey Down Escalators, Through The Mall, Up Escalators to eventually get to The Other side of the White Door. Where they were close to some 15 minutes before.
Its Madness

It will be my parents first time flying BA, and first time in the CCR. My mom has been talking about it every day she is so excited.

I was responding to the specific point of the ccr door closure. Now instead of directly entering th car, transfer f pax will need to take the main escalators down, then back up to lounge main entrance. Not a huge inconvenience but more added inconvenience than the added benefit coming from the new corridor for o/d pax

That's not huge by any standard, but it's the same or more than what o/d pax will save and the main issue to me is that the f transfer experience is already much worse than the o/d transfer experience on average so that differential increases.

Quick thought...I've not been and seen the TFW yet but am keen too.
Surely if they have boarding card scanners before you enter is there really any need for the BA Attendants at desks too?
I would like to see the money invested in more staff in GF!

The boarding card agent scan (and it's just one) is HAL, since that's tied into the DfT regulations (e.g. biometrics). The BA staff help with flight issues, including perhaps visa check, which HAL won't be doing. Most GF staff are employed by BaxterStorey anyway.

A bit strange they didn't build the wall in GF a little bit higher. Trust BA to botch the two bits they had control over instead of HAL. The welcome desks and that wall. Also I'd put the door near the glass part of GF instead of straight into the bar.
