OP, could you give more details? Was this requested when you checked into the lounge? What was said and what was the answer after you refused?

I'll admit to being extremely surprised. I have seen thousands of people in shorts in BA lounges over the years so wondering if there might have been another issue or were they very unusual shorts?

Some airlines like QF have no shorts policies in lounges (and no flip flops).

Perhaps the OP didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for the upgrade?

Leaving the punch and judy style jokes aside, can you show us a pic of said shorts OP? Or at least describe them- were they sports shorts, or tailored shorts.

I, for one, would appreciate them enforcing a dress-code policy in the lounge, but would be helpful if they published it somewhere first. Appreciate they presumable offered your F sleep-suit bottoms trying to be helpful, but these aren't appropriate for the lounge either IMHO.

Very odd. I have seen folks in shorts in all levels of lounge at T5. There isn't a ban on them in the lounge.

My point was that QF do not have a blanket ban on shorts.

Just gym shorts, swim shorts, board shorts, revealing shorts and shorts with offensive logos... in other words, they allow tailored shorts, hence my question early as to what shorts these were.

Although I do find posts at this time in the morning GMT quite amusing ;-)

It only applies to the domestic lounges.
