I'd say it's the other way around. F to South America for under £2k is something, but the SCL-IPC deal is longstanding, though be it only valid with a point of sale within Chile.

Really ? I can book it online... Doesn't seem to be a problem. Haven't processed the payment yet, so maybe it goes south there. I'll sleep on it a few nights to see if I will test it.

In any case: book the LAN flight before the AA one then.

No I mean the AA one is the outstanding deal here. LA has been offering that price for a while. You just have to book the LA ticket at an agent based in Chile (and the LA Chile website counts as inside Chile).

Yes, understood

I don't think too many people (including myself) know this. I never used ITA for this but mostly google flights or OTAs. Good to know ! Also means there is no risk to this fare combo. ^

Thanks Calchas!

FRA-SCL on AA F and SCL-IPC on LA J for a total of GBP 2110 !
AA 777 and LA 787

The first class fare to SCL is GBP 1756. (which is a very good 'sale') and the J class return to IPC is only GBP 353 instead of GBP 860. Book directly on lan.com (set your website to Chili to use this sale.... )

Positioning to FRA is for the brave (if same day) and you will need a hotel in Santiago both ways (cheap and SCL is a great city !).

The FRA-SCL seems to hold but the SCL-IPC may not be there forever....
I booked this for July next year. Included Lima and Machu Picchu as well. Thought it was too good an opportunity to pass up! Thanks to Flyertalk

Henk,

Dank u wel, maar...

Why anyone would spend their own money on CE is beyond me - an exit row in Y is far better all round IMO...

... and who on Earth chooses to visit Rotterdam ?

Indeed, combined with a xmas break. Or someone without shiny plastic who wants lounge access.

I don't fly CE myself (for the same reasons as njf63) but maybe it can help someone.

And Rotterdam is actually a much cooler city than Amsterdam, also it is much closer to Delft, Leiden, The Hague, etc. Great little airport too. The Netherlands is so much more than just Amsterdam.

Maybe not for the destinations listed by henkybaby, but for the longer CE routes I find it worth it for the space, service, and extra tier points.

www.google.co.uk/flights is actually a very powerful tool to look for good deals, especially if you learn how to use the map for your search.

I suggest we only post fares at least 20% cheaper than mentioned above.

I will clean up the wiki later. Thanks.
I'm convinced of this from DUB, ARN, OSL, CPH, etc. as long as you pick your dates, but not from Germany, France, Italy, etc. Is that what you meant or am I missing something and these fares are available for any ex-EU origin?

Decent to top up TPs. If Y is £130 and 10 TPs and J is £250ish and 80 TPs I will often do it if I'm a few short of requalification.
