When is the next BA sale?

When are we going to have a real sale ex-US West Coast? I don't believe we've had one since mid-2012.

It's not as good as Norway-OZ or DUB-US/HNL, *but*...

AA have matched BA's ex-EU sale fares in business, even on routes outside the JV (ie to South America). These fares allow a stopover in both directions, but require a 7 day journey length rather than BA's Sat night stay requirement. BA metal transatlantic is allowed as long as you use the AA flight numbers.

example: AMS-EZE is now £1,090 base fare in I class (~£1600 rt all in) and can be routed: AMS-LHR//LON-JFK-MIA-EZE vv. LON-JFK on CWLCY or on the AA 77W with the suites+wifi, and then MIA-EZE has one flight a day being sold as two class so you can allocate yourself a seat in the old F seats (full flat suites)

Given the allowed stopovers in the states, flat suites all the way and then 700/800 TPs, these are very good fares to GRU/GIG/EZE.

Doesn't AA often use angle-flats on the South American routes?

No problem for a day flight of course.

from alexwuk's comment, I am guessing it's a 3 class 772 being sold as a 2 class service (like others on that route) hence his comment of being able to allocate a seat in the old F fully flat suites.

Yes it is that. Hardly any of those around these days - unfortunately.

Sale

Hello,

I found pretty good value for my Annual Easter USA trip which I just booked

DUB-LGW-MCO Aer Lingus/BA Club World
JFK-LHR-DUB AA Business/BA Club Europe

I'm excited to try AA business on the new 777.

Total price was €1,100

And 340 TPS

Tom

One of the two MIA-EZE flights is an old 772 being sold as two-class (as they plan on switching in the newly configured 772s with no F and flat J) - so you cn allocate a seat in row 3 or 4 (old F).
GRU has all 77W service (from JFK, MIA & DFW).
The routing rules for GIG let you take AA to GRU and jump on JJ.

So it's quite possible to get a flat suite on each of the 4 longhauls.

Does anyone potentially have any examples of prices to Dubai pre sale? I'll be going to Dubai in the next few months but did want to wait with the booking a while longer, but if the prices will go up significantly after Tuesday I'll book them now.

From London?

You don't give much information () so here is the complete fare table. It includes the non-sale fares (the ones with no expiry date). Taxes and fuel surcharges are not included, but will typically be flat in the same cabin.

Yes from London (time to go to bed I think)

That's some great info there, thanks very much!!! By the looks of it I can wait until the end of March to book for the cheapest O fare (as long as people don't obviously snatch them up before me)

How do you get all this information? MCO fares are off the charts.

An ExpertFlyer subscription: http://www.expertflyer.com/
The "ExpertFlyer will change the way you fly" tag line (say it in an American accent for maximum amusement) is rather overblown but for me it is well worth 100 USD / year.

EF has access to the airline GDS so it's the same information a travel agent (online or offline) can see.

Hmmm, I'll give it a try and see if I'll save the $100 on my fare. Thanks!

Just noticed this: the "expiration date" (poor choice of words) is actually the last "travel date", not the last "buy" date. A quick look at one or two of those fares and the following rule pops up—
Code:
SALES RESTRICTIONS
   FOOTNOTE RULE
TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 27JAN15.
So actually you have until 23:59 on 27 Jan to book.

The fact that a fare has an "expiry date" (which, as you say, is the last outbound travel date) isn't a completely reliable indicator as to what is a sale fare and what isn't.

In BA ex-London fare listings, one better indicator is that a fare basis that contains "UK" is usually a sale fare, while a fare basis that contains "GB" is usually a year-round (ie non-sale) fare.
