Just booked JER-LGW//LHR-JFK-LAX-HNL-PHX-EWR//JFK-LHR-HEL-MAN, 1250TP in total, at £0.62/TP, bumping me straight to Gold for a lot less than a grand...I could go as low as £0.59/TP by routing via PHX twice but I prefer the AA JFK-LAX transcon.
I have never thought I would ever achieve Gold with BA, as I never fancied a pure status run, but this sale is just so good that it would be a crime not to jump in. Also spending a full day in New York and a bit over 2 days in balmy HNL is quite appealing.
I have been reading people doing ex-EU HNL runs while shaking my head and questioning their sanities. Now that I am doing it myself I am really excited to say the least.
But all this would not be possible without the collective wisdom of this board, and the ever so wonderful dutch_122^

Am I having a brain fart? If I would open a new BAEC account lets say on DEC 25th and qualify (more or less) within that year, would my Gold be valid until 12/15 or 12/16 (not taking into accoun the overlapping months of extra card validity)?

Edit: or rather the end of Jan or the end of Feb.
Give it a minute and someone will correct me!

I'm considering going GLA - HNL via LHR and DFW. I've a 50 min connection at LAX between my flight in from DFW and my flight out to HNL. Is that a bad idea?
Edit: whoops, too late. I just booked it. AA's MCT for dom-dom connections is apparently only 30 mins. LAX T4 is only a small terminal, and I'll have only hand luggage anyway.

I have already posted in the other thread (premium fares forum) that I'm having trouble, but my question is now more specific--i can price out an itinerary in ITA but cannot book at the same price with AA, BA or US. Now, to make it even more ugly, I've found an OTA with a similar fare, but one very unpleasant leg in economy. Is this how one finds out they've missed the boat, so to speak?

And now that everyone is turning gold, does that mean when i travel BA next, I can't get my preferred seat???? , not that begrudge people getting whatever color they want, all that I want is my regular seat.
