Bad luck PETER01, it was a good choice however, looked like it was going to do it.

It's always a lottery trying to pick the winner. Last year was a 66-1 shot and this year a 25-1 shot so all a bit of pot luck really. It had a decent run though.

Yes I agree . I'm never lucky at these sort of things.

I picked it for the name from a huge field but also notably the colours were actually Emerald and Sapphire and also a minor reason I made that choice. Ah well, what's a £1 these days.

ETA: Claire Balding has just stated that all the Horses that ran are all OK so that's good news. ^

Yes that's all that really matters.

Always loved Grand National day even although I rarely won anything. They have horse racing here but unlike the UK betting on them seems to be not very popular. They prefer the lottery.

Oh, I missed it

A horse ran faster than some other horses, and didn't fall over.
A bit like F1, really.
How exciting

I think you need to explore the hidden sporting side of yourself, it's in there somewhere.......

My dodgy back and knees are all rugby-related, so up yours

Sorry, I just don't get this 'racing' stuff unless it's involving drug-free athletes

A real man's game some would argue but is chasing/passing an Ovoid shaped ball and getting thumped in the process to put it over a white line any different?

What about Darts, that's easy for you and would keep the old grey matter ticking over

Darts leaves me mathematically challenged. And I don't drink gallons of beer either.

Watching a horse on which you have placed a pound at 100:1 lead until just before the finish line makes a race quite interesting, but it is the gamble rather than the sport.

I am always surprised by how enthralling snooker is as a spectator sport. I was sucked into watching it on the TV for several hours last time I was in the UK.
