Impossible to get arrested because it is patriotic.
I doubt T5 is licenced for singing ... "you're nicked, chummy!"

Frankly I think the 'Sex Pistols' version is far more likely to expedite your journey through T5 under those circumstances. Wish I'd thought of it...

There is no law against singing in public! There are laws for public order offences of course. But it is difficult to see how singing the songs I listed, particularly the national anthem, could ever be considered a public order offence or breach of the peace since the peace itself is the Queen's peace!

Especially since all police constables have personally pledged loyalty to the Queen.

Ahhhh ... But but but ... Is BAA's T5 public?
Used by the Public ... Yes.
Public ... I suggest ... No.

I bet they have a Bye-Law about it

I got off a flight at 9pm at T5, the Fast Track was closed and waited for almost THREE hours. I couldn't believe it - it's crazy. Before I got into line, I tried to go to the First transfer desks to see if they could be of help, but they couldn't.

It's really horrible.

I can only apologise. As I stated previously in this thread I was ashamed of my country on Thursday night when I got caught up in it.

I hope you managed to remain Urbane !

And indeed they do, as referenced in post 7 of this thread!

Now here is the interesting thing. I would argue that UKBA (or possibly the Home Office) are in breach of the byelaw! Because the outrageously long queues experienced at the moment, much longer than usual it seems are a reasonable cause for annoyance to people who have to wait in them!

Who is going to be first to raise a case!

Now on the topic of singing, can anybody have reasonable cause for annoyance for somebody singing the national anthem of the UK in the UK? I would argue no! Because we are all either loyal subjects of the Queen or criminals!

Now that, 6F, is Cooking with Gas

Can they charge themselves with their own breach of their own Bye-Laws? But but but ... They could surely prosecute the Border Farce?

Actually, I still would like to know what, if anything, would be done if a UK passport holder just ignored the queues and walked through one of the empty channels...

It's hard to see what, if any, offence is being committed.

It would also seem that refusing to allow people to access the IRIS queue would also constitute an offence under the byelaw!

Maybe as an alternative tactic we should all dress like Herr Flick, von Smallhausen or Helga depending on personal preference.

Would that help whisk us through ?

I don't have the legs to do Helga, I'm too tall for Von Samallhausen, and I don't have a long leather coat either. I can do a bloody good limp though, especially after dragging 4 bags around LGW.
