I'm pretty sure they told me that the sandwiches arrive on the inbound flight.

I've been told twice that they are coming on the inbound into PHX - must admit it didn't make much sense.

That's why the sandwiches in CW are so nasty and chilled to somewhere near absolute zero - so there's plenty left over for the lounge catering at remote stations.

Can imagine how old they would be if supplied from London?
As I am sure you know the rules for bringing any food into the USA are very strict.
All left over food from the incoming flight is incinerated with the exception of dry stores which are round tripped.

I'm going to snap some photos of the lounge in a couple weeks since there appear to be none anywhere. I agree the F lounge is fantastic (for a US based lounge) - mainly for the views of both runways but the service is certainly above par as well.

Can add more confirmation that the sandwiches are flown in. Was told as much, said they'd be available shortly after BA289 arrived.

Several choices including salmon, egg salad, tuna - and I'm enjoying a sufficiently reasonable chicken salad sandwich.

Also happy they have local Four Peaks Kiltlifter beer.

As CIHY has said, the sandwiches are definitely NOT brought in from London on the inbound flight, nor could they be for reasons of freshness and legislation.

What actually happens is that the lounge is catered at the same time as the outbound flight is catered, by the same caterers.

For reasons too numerous to describe, the outbound flight (and therefore the lounge) is catered shortly after the inbound flight arrives.......

Flown in or not flown in, ah, that is the question

I sill think they aren't...just doesn't make much sense. Regardless, the lounge is better now than it
was two or three years ago.
